The 16 teams qualified from the last-ever group stages in the Champions League discovered their opponents in the knockout stages of the competition. The eight group winners - Arsenal, Atlético de Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, holders Manchester City, Real Madrid and Real Sociedad are seeded. They are drawn against the runners-up Copenhagen, Milan, Lazio, RB Leipzig, last season’s beaten finalists Inter, Napoli, Paris Saint Germain, Porto and PSV Eindhoven who are unseeded.
Like the group stages, no side can face another team from the same country. The upcoming round of 16 matches will take place in February and March with the first legs taking place on Feb 13, 14 and 20, 21 while the second legs will be held on March 5, 6 and 12, 13. The group winners will have the advantage of playing the second leg at home. The eight winners from this round will advance to the quarterfinals. The semi-finals and the final will follow which is set to be held at the Wembley Stadium in London on June 1, 2024.

FC Porto vs Arsenal
Portuguese giants FC Porto and current Premier League leaders Arsenal are meeting for the second time in the last 16 stages of the Champions League. Overall, this will be the sixth meeting between the pair and the first since 2009/10.
Napoli vs Barcelona
Barcelona has met Napoli once before in the Champions League during the 2019-20 season, also in the Round of 16 stage. The Serie A giants last met the Catalan giants the previous year in the Europa League playoff with the latter coming out of top on both occasions.
Real Sociedad vs PSG
Paris Saint Germain will head to Spain for the first leg to take on 1982/83 semi-finalists Real Sociedad. The Ligue 1 giants will want to break the streak of getting eliminated from this stage in the last three seasons while La Real will want to capitalize on the opportunity of being in the Champions League knockout for the first time in 20 years.
Inter vs Atletico Madrid
Probably the headline fixture of this season’s round of 16 draw, last season’s beaten finalists Inter taking on Spanish giants Atletico Madrid. The only competitive meeting between the sides occurred in the 2010 UEFA Super Cup which Los Colchoneros won 2-0 in Monaco. It will also be a reunion of Atleti boss Diego Simeone who spent two seasons with Nerazzuri in his playing days.
PSV vs Dortmund
Dortmund has faced PSV just one time before in the Champions League back in 2002/03 at the group stages. This will be the first knockout meeting between the teams with the Dutch outfit aiming for their seventh quarterfinals and the ninth for the Germans. Current PSV head coach Bosz also had a stint in charge of Dortmund in 2017.
Lazio vs Bayern Munich
Lazio are drawn with six-time competition winners Bayern Munich for only the second time. The first meeting also came in the round of 16 in 2020/21 with the Bundesliga winners claiming a 6-2 aggregate victory.
Copenhagen vs Manchester City
Holders Manchester City have got the easiest draw on paper with Danish champions FC Copenhagen to battle in the last-16 stage. The side only met last season in the group stages with City emerging 5-0 victor in Etihad while the trip to Denmark ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
RB Leipzig vs Real Madrid
The last game of the 2023/24 Champions League Round of 16 is an exciting clash between Bundesliga side RB Leipzig and record winners of the competition, Real Madrid. It is a repeat of their group stage meetings last year with Los Blancos claiming a 2-0 win in the first encounter. However, Carlo Ancelotti’s team were pinned down in the reverse fixture as they lost 3-2.
