An exclusive report from DaveOCKOP has revealed that Tottenham could now make a move for another Liverpool star after already approaching left-back Andy Robertson. Fabrizio Romano had recently reported that Tottenham have sent an official bid to Liverpool for Andy Robertson. Talks are currently in progress, with Andrew Robertson open to a move to Tottenham as his time at Liverpool appears to be coming to an end. Spurs are keen to wrap up the deal quickly, especially after Ben Davies picked up a serious injury recently, which has left them needing defensive cover as soon as possible.
Spurs are now looking to sign Liverpool star Curtis Jones
The report from DaveOCKOP has confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign Liverpool's 24-year-old midfielder Curtis Jones as they look to boost their midfield amid injury concerns. Curtis Jones has become a key part of Liverpool under manager Arne Slot, featuring 28 times this season and starting 17 matches. Although his contract runs until 2027, he isn’t among the club’s highest-paid players, which could attract interest from elsewhere.
Spurs have also suffered an injury setback as Lucas Bergvall has undergone ankle surgery after being forced off during their Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund, with Jun’ai Byfield coming on as his replacement. Thus, it now makes sense for Spurs to look into the January Transfer market for a new midfielder.
Jones was an important player for Liverpool under Jürgen Klopp, helping the club win two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, and two League Cups, and he also played a role in Arne Slot’s title-winning side last season. His potential departure could clear space for Liverpool target Adam Wharton. As a homegrown academy graduate, selling Jones would bring pure profit for Liverpool. Tottenham are expected to open talks with a £30m bid, though Liverpool are likely to push for a higher fee.
Will Liverpool sell Curtis Jones to Tottenham this January Transfer Window?
Our personal opinion is that there is absolutely no chance that Liverpool end up selling both Andy Robertson and Curtis Jones to Spurs in the same transfer window. We believe the Andy Robertson deal to Spurs might go through, but Curtis Jones moving to Spurs looks unlikely as Arne Slot's side are currently a bit short in midfield and selling Jones would make the midfield depth even worse. Additionally, Liverpool would struggle to bring in a world-class midfield replacement during this January transfer window. Hence, selling Curtis Jones would make absolutely no sense at all unless Spurs end up launching a massive bid that's too good to refuse.
