Group B of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 will have two renowned names in Europe, with the recently crowned Champions League winner PSG facing Atletico Madrid alongside Copa Libertadores holders Botafogo and Seattle Sounders. The group games will start with a blockbuster involving the two outright favourites to progress to the knockouts on June 16, 2025, with Seattle and Pasadena selected as venues. This group looks to be the most straightforward among others and ideally has the potential champion of the competition after their excellent showings in Europe.
Group B Teams: FIFA Club World Cup 2025
Group B of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 brings together a powerhouse lineup featuring UEFA Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain, La Liga giants Atletico Madrid, South American champions Botafogo, and CONCACAF titleholders Seattle Sounders. With two European heavyweights and two continental champions in the mix, this group promises a high-stakes battle for knockout qualification and a showcase of global club football excellence.
Paris Saint-Germain
Fresh off their dream Champions League season, where they finally got their hands on the trophy, Paris Saint-Germain are entering the Club World Cup as the favourites to win another major honour this summer. Head coach Luis Enrique built a cohesive unit this season without superstars but stressed more on collectiveness to make the Parisians the first French side to complete a historical treble, having stayed unbeaten at the time of winning Ligue 1 and later the cup. PSG has shown their seriousness to go for the 32-team competition as they look to build a legacy with the team that slender Premier League heavyweights and thumped Inter Milan 5-0 in a record final for their European success. With one of the world’s best Gianluigi Donnarumma between the sticks, the esteemed midfield trio of Fabián Ruiz, Vitinha and João Neves and the ruthless attack containing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ballon d’Or contender Ousmane Dembélé and the 20-year-old Désiré Doué, who became the youngest to score a brace in the showpiece, it will be a shock if PSG don’t win their Club World Cup group containing fellow UEFA sides Atletico Madrid, Botafogo from Brazil and Seattle Sounders as their opposition.

PSG Club World Cup 2025 Squad
Goalkeepers: Gianluigi Donnarumma, Matvey Safonov, Lucas Lavallée, Arnau Tenas
Defenders: Achraf Hakimi, Presnel Kimpembe, Lucas Beraldo, Marquinhos, Lucas Hernandez, Nuno Mendes, Yoram Zague, Noham Kamara, Naoufel El Hannach, Willian Pacho
Midfielders: Fabián Ruiz, Vitinha, Kang-in Lee, Gabriel Moscardo, Senny Mayulu, João Neves
Forwards: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Gonçalo Ramos, Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué, Bradley Barcola, Warren Zaïre-Emery, Ibrahim Mbaye
Manager: Luis Enrique
Atletico Madrid
Despite being in a three-horse title race for La Liga in early 2025, Atletico Madrid failed to keep up with the eventual winners, Barcelona and Real Madrid, to finish third, while the latter eliminated them from the round of 16 stage of the Champions League, albeit controversially. So, Diego Simeone’s side will be desperate to shake off their disappointment of the past campaign by doing well in the Club World Cup. If they can sustain their form of six wins from nine games towards the end of the season, helped by Julian Alvarez’s brilliant individual campaign with 29 goals and Alexander Sørloth finding his mojo in the final months, they could produce fireworks in the competition. However, winning the group will be a difficult task with PSG lingering and they even face the Champions League winners to open their journey. Barring any surprises, Los Rojiblancos is expected to finish second in the group without much ado and seal their spot in the last-16.

Forwards: Antoine Griezmann, Alexander Sørloth, Ángel Correa, Carlos Martín, Julián Alvarez, Giuliano Simeone, Adrián Niño, Omar Janneh
Manager: Diego Simeone
Botafogo
Unlike PSG and Atletico, who qualified via UEFA rankings, Botafogo won some silverware to get into Club World Cup 2025. The club from the city of Rio de Janeiro created history by winning their first-ever Copa Libertadores in 2024, also winning the top-flight in the same season. The first double in club history also helped them with the honor of best club in South America that year, by the IFFHS. The team has players to watch out for, especially 24-year-old Igor Jesus and the latest buy in the special transfer window, Arthur Cabral, who started his career in Brazil. However, the Fires are unlucky to be grouped with two European top brass and carrying an inconsistent form to the Club World Cup, having fallen to sixth in their domestic title defence, there is not much encouragement for them other than playing for pride in the competition.

Forwards: Artur, Rwan Cruz, Matheus Martins, Nathan Fernandes, Kayke, Joaquín Correa, Gonzalo Mastriani, Jeffinho, Arthur Cabral, Igor Jesus
Manager: Renato Paiva
Seattle Sounders
Like Botafogo, Seattle Sounders also won a first continental prize, the CONCACAF Champions League, in club history to get into their debut Club World Cup defeating Mexican side UNAM 5-2 on aggregate to seal the title. The Rave Green are one of the three teams from the USA to participate in the competition but they might be the unluckiest to be placed in a group where they don’t seem to have much of a chance. The Sounders are also struggling in the MLS this season, placed sixth on their chart and picked up just two wins in the last six games leading up to the competition. Brian Schmetzer’s team have also lost the last two games before they enter the Club World Cup 2025, having already lost six times this season, with no momentum to take forward which will not be a pleasant moment for the side. Understandably, Sounders will fight against Botafogo to beat the drop with their opening game being crucial in this regard but the Brazilian side looks to be in a better position to take the third spot, not that it will matter.

Who will qualify from Group B in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025?
Paris Saint-Germain are clear favourites to top Group B after their dominant Champions League run and memorable domestic season. Atletico Madrid, with their experience and firepower, are well-positioned to take the second qualifying spot.
Botafogo and Seattle Sounders, despite their continental titles, face an uphill battle against two European heavyweights. Their clash may decide third place, but progression seems unlikely.
