Manchester City are reportedly looking to sign Sergio Ramos on a 2-year deal if he doesn't agree on a contract with Real Madrid.

In the last 2 weeks, there has been a lot of trouble in the Real Madrid camp. After losing the league to city rivals Atletico Madrid, Zinedine Zidane resigned as the manager.

To make matters worse Zidane has written an open letter to Madrid fans all around the world stating that he is not tired of coaching and the only reason he resigned is because he thinks that the club does not have enough faith in him. The Frenchman also said that he wishes that the relationship between the club and him was better in the last few months. The Madrid legend's two-page open letter to the fans clearly suggests that he is very unhappy and sad about how he is treated by the club and by the media in this past season.

In the midst of all of this, one important thing which has got much attention is the future of club captain Sergio Ramos. Sergio Ramos' current Real Madrid contract runs out in June. Ramos reportedly wants a two-year extension at Real Madrid but the club is only willing to give him a one-year extension with an option of another year with a pay cut. Paris Saint Germain have been frontrunners to get Ramos' signature.

Recent development in Manchester City suggests that the club is also looking to strengthen the defence by signing Sergio Ramos on a free deal. Manager Pep Guardiola thinks that Ramos' experience will be a great asset to his side. According to reports in Spain, Ramos and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez the meeting scheduled in the coming week to discuss the Real Madrid legend's future.

Ramos has been at Real Madrid since he was a teenager in 2005. The Spaniard has built a legacy at the Santiago Bernabeu in his 16-year long career with Real Madrid. Pramod has gone on to become one of the best defenders in world football and one of the best captains of all time. His accolades include 4 UEFA Champions League 3 of which came in consecutive years.

Ramos didn't show any signs of slowing down despite his age before this season. Sergio Ramos has been plagued with injuries throughout the 2020/21 season, having played only 21 matches. Injury Issues this season also meant that the Spaniard was omitted from Luis Enrique's team for the Euros.

As per many reports, Ramos has offers from both PSG and Real Madrid on his table and his future is completely in his hands. But now Manchester City are also in the running which changes things completely. Sergio Ramos is widely regarded as one of the best centre backs of all time and playing in the Premier League might be the one thing left to do in his illustrious career. It might be over the challenge that Ramos might want to take before he hangs up his boots.

There is no doubt that Real Madrid needs Ramos more than PSG and Manchester City. After the things that happened at the Bernabeu this season which include finishing the season without any piece of silverware and Zidane's controversial resignation. Real Madrid might enter a very tough phase as a club.

There are rumours circulating in the Spanish media that Zidane is PSG's first choice if Mauricio Pochettino leaves for Spurs or Real Madrid. The odds of Ramos' arrival will undoubtedly turn in PSG's favour if Zidane becomes their manager.
