A new report indicates that there is still a slight possibility for Marcus Rashford to make a return to Manchester United after his Barcelona loan. Marcus Rashford has been brilliant for Barcelona since joining them on loan last summer, having scored 3 goals and assisted another 7 in 19 La Liga appearances. He has been especially brilliant in the Champions League for Hansi Flick's side, having scored 5 and provided another 3 in 8 games. Thus, he has an impressive average of 1 direct goal contribution per game for Barca so far in the UCL.
New report from the telegraph hints at slight chance for Marcus Rashford to return to Manchester United
A recent report from Jason Burt of the telegraph has stated that Michael Carrick is reportedly keen on bringing Marcus Rashford back to Manchester United if he remains head coach beyond this season. Those close to Rashford say he has rediscovered his smile after feeling underappreciated and overly criticised at United, particularly when playing through injuries. However, despite offering some hope to fans, the circumstances of his exit, including losing the No.10 shirt to Cunha and strong comments from Amorim questioning his commitment , make a return to Old Trafford unlikely.
Our opinion on Marcus Rashford potentially returning to Manchester United after his Barcelona stint
We believe that Marcus Rashford is an extremely lucky player to be getting a second chance at getting his career back on track, that too at one of the best clubs in the world in Barcelona. The fact that Marcus Rashford, a player who was strictly average during his final playing months for Manchester United, had caught the interest of a world-class team like Hansi Flick's Barcelona side is a testament to the special abilities he possesses and the talent that top clubs in Europe see within him.
Despite his excellent performances for Barcelona this season, Rashford should not even think of ever returning to Manchester United. That would be the best choice for both the club and player considering the manner in which he left the club wasn't the very best. Additionally, even with all the talent he possesses, the undeniable truth was that Rashford struggled at United during last season with the club. Although he's shown his brilliance in a United shirt on numerous occasions, his inconsistency and off-field issues were the biggest villains of his time at Old Trafford.
If we were in the position of Marcus, the best thing we'd do right now is focus entirely on Barca, continue to give fantastic performances, and convince them to sign him on a permanent deal from Manchester United.
