Max Downman - Arsenal's new record breaking prodigy

Downman's first-time debut for Arsenal came on 23th July 2025, as Mikel Arteta's side faced AC Milan in a pre-season friendly in Singapore. On 23rd August, Dowman made his Premier League debut, coming on as a substitute for Arsenal in the 64th minute of their match against Leeds United. It was yet another historic moment for the youngster, as he became the second youngest player in the league's history at 15 years and 235 days, behind only his teammate Ethan Nwaneri. In the very same game, Downman won a penalty for his team in the third minute of stoppage time, thus playing a role in helping Arsenal score their fifth goal in a 5–0 victory over Leeds United. He played for over 71 minutes in the game, and was later praised for his dribbling, courage and composure. In fact, Downman received special praise after the game from manager Mikel Arteta.
