Manchester City won the Premier League championship once more, narrowly defeating Mikel Arteta's superb Arsenal team in a thrilling title chase. Another Premier League season is virtually consigned to history.

During yet another thrilling season in the English top division, there have been several standout players, from the brilliance of Bukayo Saka and Kevin De Bruyne to the goal-scoring exploits of Erling Haaland. It was time for the Premier League's year-end top performances to be selected in the Team of the Season after Manchester City was crowned champion for the third straight season.

Goalkeeper - Nick Pope

For the position of keeper, there are several candidates. No one has more clean sheets than David de Gea, but the Manchester United goalkeeper hasn't exactly had a stellar campaign. The usual suspects on Alisson and Ederson have been superb, and Aaron Ramsdale has been mainly great for Arsenal and made some fantastic saves.

Right Back - Keiran Tripper

Eddie Howe brought in the former Atletico Madrid right-back as the first addition to his Newcastle United team. The England international was brought in to offer a winning mindset, consistency, and offensive width from the right full-back position after a successful time in Spain when he won La Liga. He has effectively contributed and been included in several Premier League teams of the week.

Left Back - Pervis Estupinan

This season, Brighton & Hove Albion's wild style of play has won them over for fans all over the world. Pervis Estupinan, a left defender, has developed this season under the guidance of Roberto de Zerbi and has amassed an astounding six assists in the Premier League.

Center Back - William Saliba

William Saliba's first season in the Premier League has been quite the experience. After his loan stints in France, there were many who questioned whether he was prepared to make the jump, but they have long since been silenced. The young Frenchman has been a behemoth for Arsenal alongside the similarly excellent Gabriel Magalhaes, and his injury undoubtedly played a significant factor in Mikel Arteta's team almost losing out to Manchester City in the championship battle.

Center Back - Ruben Dias

The Portuguese, who was the Premier League Player of the Year in 2020–21, has been a crucial component of Manchester City's rock-solid defense, which has the best defensive record in the league as of the season's conclusion and is now a three-time Premier League winner. For Pep Guardiola, whose back three systems of Akanji, Dias, and Ake have been impenetrable for most of their opponents, he has been a fixture at the back.

Defensive Midfielder - Rodri

Fans of Casemiro will undoubtedly be furious about this considering the season he's had. However, despite his recent slump in performance, Thomas Partey has been brilliant, as have players like Declan Rice, Bruno Guimaraes, and Moises Caicedo. But Rodri has once more played a crucial role at Manchester City. The Spaniard has had another fantastic season and is such an important part of the City machine. Although it's simple to ignore what Rodri contributes to City, Guardiola couldn't succeed without him.

Midfielder - Martin Odegaard

For any young player, being the captain of Arsenal at the age of 24 and spearheading a championship defense against Manchester City is no small accomplishment. Despite his youth, his maturity and skill on the field have cemented him as an essential component of Mikel Arteta's Gunners this season. People have compared his impact on Arsenal's inventiveness this season to that of Kevin De Bruyne in terms of how crucial he is to their team's success.

Midfielder - Kevin de Bruyne

Kevin De Bruyne, perhaps one of the finest midfielders in the world right now, has become better and better this season. Kevin De Bruyne has performed admirably for Manchester City at key points in the season as Pep Guardiola oversees his fitness. In only 28 games for Manchester City, Kevin De Bruyne has scored seven goals and provided 16 assists, making a significant contribution to his team.

Left Winger - Marcus Rashford

Manchester United, who had a rocky start to the season, have come together under Erik Ten Hag and have become a deadly threat. Marcus Rashford has scored the most goals for his club and is the most productive striker on the squad with an incredible 17 goals in 32 starts.

Right Winger - Bukayo Saka

Bukayo Saka led Arsenal's ambitious championship drive for most of the season with his daring driving forward runs from the right flank while also contributing goals and assists. With 13 goals and 11 assists in the league, he is among the top 5 players in Europe with at least 10 goals and 10 assists despite being only 21 years old. He has also demonstrated exceptional maturity and consistency in his performances.

Striker - Erling Haaland

An unstoppable goal scorer who dominated the Premier League in his first season in England and tore the record books to pieces. With 36 league goals and helping City win the Premier League, Haaland has been nothing short of a phenomenon. In addition, he has contributed with seven assists, which is a respectable amount for a striker who many believe just plays to score goals.
