Zion Suzuki (Aston Villa)
Suzuki was one of the few bright spots in Aston Villa’s frustrating 0-0 draw with Hull City. The goalkeeper made four saves and kept his first Premier League clean sheet for the club. He produced saves from Regan Slater and Mohamed Belloumi to preserve a point.
Right-back
Jayden Bogle (Leeds United)
Bogle gave Leeds the perfect start at Brighton, scoring in the 15th minute to put the visitors ahead. He reacted quickest after Bart Verbruggen parried Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s header, finishing from close range. His attacking contribution earns him a place.
Centre-back
Gabriel Magalhães (Arsenal)
Gabriel helped Arsenal survive a difficult opening against Chelsea before the champions turned the game around. The Brazilian was aggressive in duels and dangerous from set pieces. His presence was important as Arsenal protected their 2-1 lead.
Ezri Konsa (Arsenal)
Konsa made an impressive first Premier League start for Arsenal in the victory over Chelsea. He produced a standout defensive intervention to stop Morgan Rogers and was also unlucky to hit the post during an Arsenal set-piece sequence. His composure alongside Gabriel helped Arsenal withstand Chelsea’s late pressure.

Tyrick Mitchell (Crystal Palace)
Mitchell was arguably the standout full-back of Gameweek 3. The Crystal Palace defender scored twice at Fulham, cancelling out the hosts’ lead on two occasions as Palace eventually completed a 3-2 comeback. His brace turned a difficult away game into Palace’s first league win of the campaign.
Central midfield
Declan Rice (Arsenal)
Rice delivered another influential all-round display in Arsenal’s comeback win. His set-piece delivery repeatedly caused Chelsea problems, including in the move that led to a major chance for Gabriel and Konsa. He also provided the physicality and ball-winning presence Arsenal needed in midfield after going behind early.
Alex Scott (Bournemouth)
Scott was outstanding even though Bournemouth could only draw 2-2 with Newcastle. The midfielder helped create both of Bournemouth’s goals and controlled large stretches of the contest with his passing and intelligent positioning. His passing and positioning made him one of the weekend’s best midfielders.

Martin Ødegaard (Arsenal)
Ødegaard scored the decisive goal in Arsenal’s 2-1 comeback against Chelsea, continuing his excellent start to the campaign. The captain finished a flowing attacking move early in the second half, showing composure inside the box. His leadership was central to Arsenal’s perfect start, and was brilliant throughout the game.
Right wing
Cody Gakpo (Liverpool)
Gakpo was Liverpool’s creative star in their 2-0 win at Ipswich. He provided both assists for Alexander Isak, who scored twice inside the opening nine minutes. Gakpo’s movement and delivery repeatedly opened up the home defence.
Left wing
Christos Tzolis (Arsenal)
Tzolis made a major impact in Arsenal’s comeback win over Chelsea. The winger repeatedly drove at Chelsea’s defence with direct runs and energetic pressing, while his diagonal delivery helped create Ødegaard’s winner. It was also his first Premier League assist, underlining his growing influence.
Striker
Kai Havertz (Arsenal)
Havertz rounded off an excellent week by scoring against his former club as Arsenal defeated Chelsea 2-1. After Chelsea took an early lead, the German produced a composed low finish in the 25th minute to restore parity. His dummy was also crucial for Ødegaard’s winner.
