Clean sheet also known as shutout is a footballing term used when a team does not allow the opposition to score a goal in a match. A clean sheet by a goalkeeper is said to have the same impact as a goal by an outfield player. When Jose Mourinho first took charge of Chelsea in 2004, he bought a fresh defensive mindset and strategies. In his first season incharge Chelsea broke the Premier League record of fewest goals conceded as they conceded just 15 goals in the whole season, subsequently Petr cech kept 24 clean sheets, a record that still stands. Chelsea ended up winning the League winning the most points in history of the English first division. Which goalkeeper has the most clean sheet in The Premier League?


In 2015 Petr Cech broke David James Record to become the goalkeeper with the most Premier League clean sheets. Cech has 202 clean sheets to his name, 33 more than anybody else. Former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin Van Der Sar holds the record for keeping most consecutive clean sheets in The Premier League when he went 14 games without conceding a goal in 2007-08.
