Kalinga Lancers moved to the top of the Men’s Hockey India League 2025/26 (Men’s HIL 2025/26) points table with a close 0–1 win against Hyderabad Toofans on Wednesday evening (January 14).
It was a tough battle between both sides, where the Belgian Alexander Hendrickx scored the solitary goal of the match for Kalinga Lancers. In the 40th minute, Hendrickx scored the goal from a penalty corner.
Lancers got three more penalty corners in the final quarter, while Toofans had only one penalty corner in the entire game, which they earned in the second quarter.
With three wins and one shootout win, the unbeaten Lancers have 11 points in four games. Meanwhile, Hyderabad Toofans have recorded one win, two shootout losses, and two full-time defeats, as they have five points after five games.
