In the 14th match of the Men’s Hockey India League 2025/26 (Men’s HIL 2025/26), HIL Governing Council claimed another strong win with a 4–2 victory against Tamil Nadu Dragons, as New Zealander Kane Russell recorded his third hat-trick in four games of the tournament. Russell scored all three goals from penalty corners.
In the 14th minute, Kane Russell provided the lead for HIL GC, while Sam Ward scored the second goal in the 23rd minute through a field goal.
Australian Blake Govers scored the first goal for Tamil Nadu Dragons by utilising the penalty corner opportunity in the 32nd minute. In the next minute, Russell scored his second goal of the match following a penalty corner.
Russell completed his third hat-trick of the tournament in the 47th minute by utilising another penalty corner. Uttam Singh scored a field goal for the Dragons in the 56th minute, but it wasn’t enough for them, as they registered their first full-time defeat of the season.
Meanwhile, the HIL Governing Council are at the top of the points table with 10 points after four matches with three wins and one shootout loss.
