On Tuesday evening (January 20), Hyderabad Toofans claimed a hard-fought 3–2 victory against HIL Governing Council to make the points table more dramatic.
English Zachary Wallace provided the early 1–0 lead for Hyderabad Toofans in the sixth minute from a successful penalty corner. Two minutes later, New Zealander Kane Russell equalised the scoreline after a penalty corner. Amandeep Lakra helped Toofans to regain the lead in the same minute from another penalty corner.
In the 27th minute, Shilanand Lakra made the scoreline 3–1 for Toofans from another penalty corner. HIL GC made the scoreline 3–2 in the 31st minute, thanks to in-form Kane Russell, who scored from another penalty corner. However, HIL GC failed to manage at least one more goal, as Toofans claimed a close victory.
With this win, Hyderabad Toofans moved up to the third position in the points table with 11 points, while HIL Governing Council are dropped to fourth place in the same points table with 11 points.
