On the final day of the league stage at the Men’s Asian Champions Trophy 2026, India thrashed South Korea by 8-0, after China had a 1-1 draw against Bangladesh and Japan claimed a 2-1 victory against Malaysia.
After Benhai Chen provided a 1-0 lead for China in the second minute, Ashraful Islam equalised the scoreline in the 38th minute. With the draw result, Bangladesh managed to earn their first point in the tournament, while China also remained winless with their second draw result. They will face each other for the fifth-place game on Wednesday (4th November).
In the second game of the day, Japan edged Malaysia out for the 2-1 scoreline to snatch second place, as they will once again face the third-placed Malaysia in the second Semifinal on Wednesday. After Abu Kamal Azrai (10’) provided a lead for Malaysia, Kentaro Fukuda (24’ and 54’) scored a brace to snatch a victory for Japan.
On the other hand, the hosts India, the record-holding five-time winners, thrashed South Korea by 8-0. Dilpreet Singh scored two goals (8’ and 40’), while Jugraj Singh (11’), captain Harmanpreet Singh (15’), Shilanand Lakra (33’), Sukhjeet Singh (34’), Sanjay Rana (36’), and Angad Bir Singh (60’) scored one goal each. They will once again face each other in the first Semifinal on Wednesday.
