Asian Games 2026: Mixed Compound Archery Team Wins Gold To Secure LA28 Summer Olympics Quota

Chikitha Taniparthi and Sahil Jadhav represented India in the mixed compound archery team event, who beat South Korean team, consisting of Park Jungyoon and Choi Yonghee, in the thrilling final. At the end of four games, the Indian team had a tied score with South Korea, with a score of 157. 

In the shoot-off, both Chikitha and Sahil scored 10s, while Park replied with a 10, but Choi managed a score of nine, as the Indian team clinched the gold medal victory. Earlier, on the same day, Chikitha celebrated with the gold medal for the women’s compound archery team. So, she has won two gold medals at the Asian Games 2026.

Earlier, on the same day, India beat Thailand (156-155), and South Korea defeated China (159-156) in the Semifinals. Later, China won a bronze medal by defeating Thailand (154-158). 

With the gold medal success, the Indian mixed compound archery team has booked a quota for the nation for the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics. It was India’s first spot confirmation in archery for the LA28, while the Indian women’s cricket team has already confirmed their historic berth for the next Summer Olympics.
