Indian wushu player Naorem Roshibina Devi created history by winning a silver medal in the women’s 60kg wushu event at the Asian Games 2026.
Naorem Roshibina Devi won silver
On Thursday (24 September), Naorem Roshibina Devi played the final against Chinese Xiaoyu Zhang. It was the gold medal match, where the Chinese athlete won 2-0 to secure the gold medal, while Roshibina secured the silver medal.
After five judges gave the favour of the Chinese athlete in the first round with the scores of 6-2, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2, 8-2, the gold medalist completely dominated the second round with the scorelines of 10-2, 8-3, 7-3, 7-3, 6-1.
Earlier, Roshibina won the Round of 16 and Quarterfinal against Most Shika Khatun from Bangladesh and Chu Man Sin from Macau through points differences. Later, she reached the Final after beating Indonesian Thania Kusumaningtyas (2-0) in the Final.

Who is Naorem Roshibina Devi?
It was Naorem Roshibina Devi’s third Asian Games medal. Earlier, she won a bronze medal at the Asian Games 2018 and a silver medal at the Asian Games 2022. With the latest medal, Roshibina became the first Indian wushu player to win Asian Games medals in three back-to-back editions.
In 2023, Roshibina was honoured with the Arjuna Award, the second-highest sporting honour of India.
