Young Bowlers who have impressed at the IPL 2022

This is a topic which is very interesting to write about because the sheer number of young Bowlers who have broken through this IPL season is enormous but we will limit it to the Top 5 according to me. Before we get into all that it has been very pleasing to see the number of fast bowlers who have come up from different parts of India and are shining in this IPL playing for different teams and many of them are left arm fast bowlers which India has felt a void of for a long time.

The IPL 2022 has been very good for the fast bowlers as well as spinners and I have loved their fearless approach to the game and not being intimidated by the batter in front of them. This is a new generation of Bowlers and it is a treat to watch them. Let’s look at the 5 Best Young Bowlers of IPL 2022.

Umran Malik - Sunrisers Hyderabad

This young fast bowler from Jammu is obviously one of those Bowlers who has impressed everyone a lot and mostly because of how fast he bowls and as an Indian fan seeing the fastest bowler in the world being an Indian is a different kind of happiness. Umran Malik has played all 12 Matches for SRH this IPL season. He has picked up 18 wickets in this season and is number 7 in the Purple Cap list. He has also bowled the fastest ball of this IPL and the second fastest of all time at 157 km/h vs the Delhi Capitals. He needs to work on his line and length and he will soon be in the Indian team.

Mukesh Choudhary - Chennai Super Kings

In a forgettable season for the Chennai Super Kings one shining light for them is the young left arm fast bowler Mukesh Choudhary or Powerplay Mukesh because he has got most of his wickets in the first 6 overs. He has taken 16 wickets in the 11 matches that he has played this season and is a bright prospect for the future as well as his economy rate is also under 8 per over which is very good.

Mohsin Khan- Lucknow Supergiants

In just the 6 IPL matches that he has played Mohsin Khan has already taken 10 wickets and the most incredible thing is that his economy rate is just 5.19 runs per over which is like Gold in the IPL. This young left arm fast bowler has impressed one and all by hisn immaculate lime and lengths and he takes wickets at all stages of the innings and he has a bowling average of 10.90. He can come up in the Indian team as soon as the South Africa series.

Wanindu Hasaranga – Royal Challengers Bangalore

The Purple Cap holder of the IPL has to be on this list and he has wowed everyone and all the teams struggling to play against him and he has taken 23 wickets this season till now in 13 Matches and more than likely he will increase his tally. Wanindu Hasaranga is a bright Sri Lankan leg spinner and he will do wonders for Sri Lanka in the future. An economy of just over 8 is incredible for a spinner.

Yash Dayal – Gujarat Titans

The last young bowler in this list is another left arm paver and this time it is Yash Dayal from Gujarat Titans and he is another bright left arm fast bowler from India. He has picked up 9 wickets in the 5 Matches he has played for Gujarat Titans and has been one of the reasons that they have been at the Top of the table and with more matches he will get better. A bowling average of 18.89 is very impressive.

These young Bowlers are coming from every corner of India and the world and this shows that IPL is a huge platform for all these young Bowlers to Bowl against the best batters in the world and make an instant name for themselves. Hopefully more and more of these young Bowlers Olay for their countries one day.
