Australian cricketer Mitchell Marsh created a new IPL history with his first IPL century during the 64th match of the IPL 2025 against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on Thursday evening (May 22). His century set up the historic moment in the Indian Premier League, as its list of centuries has finally gotten the names of brothers.
Although LSG have already been eliminated from the IPL 2025, while GT are on top of the IPL 2025 points table, LSG still managed to secure a strong 33-run win. After the hosts chose to field first, LSG scored 235/2 in 20 overs, while GT replied with 202/9 in 20 overs.
IPL 2025: Mitchell Marsh scored his first IPL century
LSG opener Mitchell Marsh scored his first IPL century as his powerful batting guided the franchise to their third-largest total. Marsh recorded his second consecutive fifty in 33 balls and completed his century in 56 balls. With the help of 10 fours and eight sixes, Marsh scored 117 runs in 64 balls. He was dismissed in the 19th over, as Arshad Khan took his wicket, but before his dismissal, Marsh had a 91-run partnership with Aiden Markram for the first wicket and another 121-run partnership with Nicholas Pooran for the second wicket.

Shaun Marsh scored only IPL century in IPL 2008
In the inaugural IPL edition, IPL 2008, Shaun Marsh, the elder brother of Mitchell Marsh, recorded his only IPL century. During the IPL 2008 Mohali match against Rajasthan Royals, Kings XI Punjab (presently known as Punjab Kings) opener Shaun Marsh scored 115 off 69 balls with the help of 11 fours and seven sixes. He recorded his century in 58 balls.
First brothers with IPL centuries
As Mitchell Marsh scored his first IPL century, it marked the achievement of the first pair of brothers with IPL centuries. The Marsh brothers became the first pair of brothers to record centuries in the Indian Premier League.
