Boundaries, which consists of fours and sixes, is a powerful part of cricket as batters try to hit as much as possible to move the scoreboard quickly. Fours, which are known as boundaries that travel with at least one bounce before the rope, have the power to move the scoreboard in the second fastest way. 

Here is the list of the top 5 batters with the most number of fours hit in the history of IPL so far (Updated as of IPL 2024).  

5. Suresh Raina  

Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina was a T20 specialist cricketer. Playing for the national side as well as in the IPL, he made some exceptional knocks. Playing in a total of 205 matches and scoring a total of 5528 runs, the left-handed batter was previously the leading run-scorer in the IPL history. Raina hit 506 IPL fours.

4. Rohit Sharma

Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma is a legendary batter in the white-ball format, who dominated the second half of his international career as a dominant opener. The right-handed batter now plays destructive roles with the bat, which has a risk or reward result for his team, but he is widely successful in his present powerful role. While he scored 6600+ runs in 250+ IPL innings, the right-handed batter has hit 599 fours. 

3. David Warner

The former Australian southpaw David Warner was one of the best batters in IPL history. Warner always amazed the audience with his brilliance in batting performance, where his powerful strikes that majorly dealt with boundaries destroyed any opposition bowling line-ups. In his 184 IPL matches, Warner scored 6565 runs, while the left-handed batter hit 663 fours. 

2. Virat Kohli

It is difficult to find a top batting record without the name of Virat Kohli in that list. Kohli has played 250+ matches in the Indian Premier League, and the right-handed batter is the leading run-scorer in the IPL history by recording the first 8000 IPL runs. Including 8 centuries and 55 half-centuries. Kohli also stands in the second position for hitting the most number of fours in the IPL with 705 boundaries.

1. Shikhar Dhawan

Former Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan was one of the most energetic players on the field. He was well appreciated for his fearless batting and famous victory stance. There were also many memorable performances which the player gifted to the audience. Shikhar Dhawan played 222 matches in his IPL career and has scored 6769 runs so far. He scored most of his runs through boundaries. Dhawan holds the record for most IPL fours with 768 boundaries in his name.
