Inaugural IPL champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) are ready for the new IPL season, IPL 2026. It is not only a new season for the franchise, but also under new ownership, as the US-based entrepreneur Kal Somani bought the 100 percent stake of the franchise for USD 1.63 billion
Apart from winning the IPL 2008, the first edition of the tournament, Rajasthan Royals played the Final in the IPL 2022, where they finished as runners-up after losing the Final against tournament debutant Gujarat Titans. In the last three IPL seasons, the Royals reached the playoffs once, in the 2024 season, when they reached Qualifier 2. In the last season, they finished in the ninth position, their worst ever standing.
Rajasthan Royals are ready to make a fresh start in the IPL 2026, as they are eyeing a new glory in the new generation.
