AEW WrestleDream 2025 was a mixed show. All the Major Matches on the show got a lot of time but some of the matches were not of the highest quality. There are a lot of matches at these AEW PPVs. They need to be like WWE and at maximum have 7 Matches on the main show. The women had a great showing.
Let’s look at the Results for AEW WrestleDream 2025
Jamie Hayter beat Thekla
This was the first match on the main show. It was Jamie Hayter vs Thekla. This was a 16 minute match and both women had it their all. Jamie Hayter hit a Toxic Spider but it was not enough. Thekla then went to work on the neck of Jamie Hayter as Jamie had suffered a severe neck injury. Thekla gave a Chokeslam to Jamie Hayter but she kicked out. Thekla gave a Powerbomb but it was not enough. Thekla applied the Octopus submission. Jamie Hayter got out of the submission. Jamie Hayter hit a Neckbreaker which was followed by 2 big Lariats for the win. This was a big win for Jamie Hayter as it puts her in title contention.
Jurassic Express beat The Young Bucks
This was the second match on the card and a prize money of $500,000 was on the line. This was a 22 minute match. Jack Perry and Luchasaurus were teaming up after 3 years and they were looking for their first win against The Young Bucks. This was an excellent tag team match. To start the match Luchasaurus was the star as he gave the advantage to the babyfaces. The Young Bucks used their experience in the second half of the match and were hitting superkicks and they nearly got the win. Jack Perry was being beaten and Luchasaurus got the hot tag. He absolutely destroyed his opponents. Both teams hit the Meltzer driver but they kicked out. Jurassic Express hit the Doomsday Device and The Young Bucks kicked out. Jurassic Express won the match but after it Don Callis Family attacked them and Kenny Omega ran to save them.
The Hurt Syndicate beat The Demand in a Tornado Trios Match
The feud that is one of the weakest in AEW had its final match. The two trios had a 14 minute match. This match had everything going but pinfalls had to take place inside the Ring. This was one of the weakest matches on the show. The Demand took control of MVP as he is the weak Link. Shelton Benjamin showed his athletic skills as he launched himself over the top rope. Bobby Lashley took care of Ricochet and the fans loved to see it. Shelton Benjamin won the match for his trio. The Hurt Syndicate will move on to challenge The Opps for the Trios titles.
Kyle Fletcher beat Mark Briscoe for AEW TNT Championship
One of the best matches of an AEW PPV is once again held by Kyle Fletcher. This was a 25 minute excellent professional wrestling match. This match was the 5th Match between the two men. Kyle Fletcher took the upper hand at the start as he hit a brain buster but Mark Briscoe kicked out. Mark Briscoe then took control and he hit three Froggy Bows but it was not enough. Kyle Fletcher used all the heel tactics like he low blowed him and sent him to the referee. Both men were exhausted and Kyle Fletcher won the match. He had to hit 3 brain Busters and one was delivered into the turnbuckle. Kyle Fletcher is one of the best champions in AEW.
Kris Statlander beat Toni Storm for AEW Women’s Championship
This was the second of three women’s matches on the show. Kris Statlander was looking to prove that she was not a fluke. Kris Statlander took early control of the match as she was hitting Toni Storm with suplexes and clotheslines. Toni Storm was not going to stay down. Kris Statlander made the Rookie mistake of showing off to the crowd and Toni Storm took advantage. Toni Storm hit a running hip attack followed by a Storm Zero but Kris Statlander kicked out. Kris Statlander delivered a basement Dropkick which was followed by a 450 Splash for a close 2 count. Kris Statlander hit a Saturday’s Night Fever but Toni Storm kicked out. Kris Statlander hit another and this time Toni Storm was beaten. Kris Statlander is the new face of the AEW Women’s division. This was a 17 minute match.
Mercedes Mone beat Mina Shirakawa for AEW TBS Championship and Interim ROH Women’s Television World Championship
This was the third women’s match on the show. It was Mercedes Mone who has now become the longest reigning TBS Champion of all time. She has 10 belts and was looking for the 11th. This was a 16 minute match. Mina Shirakawa took control of the match which was frustrating for the champion. Mercedes Mone gave the Three Amigos Suplexes as a tribute to Eddie Guerrero. Mina blocked a Frog splash from Mercedes with her knees and then applied a submission to win. The Glamorous driver was hit followed by Figure Four leglock but Mercedes was not able to win. The champion hit the Money Maker but Mina Shirakawa had her feet under the rope. Mercedes Mone won the match via a rollup. After the match Kris Statlander took out Mercedes Mone.
Brodido beat Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita for AEW World Tag Team Championship
This was easily the best match of the show. This was a 27 minute classic of tag team wrestling. The Don Callis Family were together for the start of the match as they beat up Brody King. However the tag to Bandido changed the trajectory of the match. Brody King gave a massive Crossbody to Kazuchika Okada that collapsed the rail. Bandido delivered a spinning back first to Okada. Brody King hit a Chokeslam to Konosuke Takeshita. Bandido hit a Shooting Star Press on Konosuke Takeshita for a near fall. There was a spot where there was a four way German Suplex. Kazuchika Okada hit a Rainmaker on his tag team partner. Brodido won the match and retained the title.
Adam Page beat Samoa Joe for AEW World Championship
This was the co-main event of the show. It was for the AEW World Championship. This was a 19 minute match making it one of the shortest AEW World Championship Matches. Samoa Joe attacked the champion with his strikes and submissions as he was looking to win the world title for the second time. Adam Page would not be beaten. Adam Page hit a Deadeye but Samoa Joe kicked out. Samoa Joe was also a babyface at the start of the match and the fans were loud for him. To win the match Adam Page hit the Buckshot Lariat for the win. After the match The Opps led by Samoa Joe turned heel. Samoa Joe hit the Mustlebuster to Adam Page on the title. This was a good match which had a very good post match angle.
Darby Allin beat Jon Moxley in an I Quit Match
The main event of the show was the I Quit Match. As the main event of the show, this was not a great match. Marina Shafir was an important part of the match early in this 26 minutes match. She first saved Jon Moxley from getting hurt and then she let Darby Allin get hurt on a Coffin Drop. Jon Moxley used a belt to whip Darby Allin and he punished him but Darby Allin would not quit. Jon Moxley trapped Darby Allin in a Bulldog choke and the Death Riders put Tables in the Ring. Jon Moxley hit a Death Valley Driver onto two tables and then he tried to drown Darby Allin in an aquarium. The arena went dark and it was Sting and he passed his bat to Darby Allin. Darby Allin hit the Coffin Drop followed by the Scorpion Death Drop. He applied for a submission and Jon Moxley quit. This was an okay main event.
