She has beaten the likes of Kris Statlander, Jamie Hayter, Toni Storm, and Starlight Kid. Thekla is the strongest woman in AEW, and she has been building to a big match at AEW All In.
Thekla has been one of the fastest rising stars in professional wrestling. Tony Khan has found a big superstar, and he just has to book her right. She is young and from Austria and, along with Gunther, one of the most famous wrestlers from the country.
On the other hand, Mercedes Mone is one of the greatest of all time.
She has done everything there is to do in professional wrestling. She was Sasha Banks in the WWE, where she won 6 world championships and main-evented WrestleMania, which was impossible for Black women. Sasha Banks left WWE, and Mercedes Mone was born in AEW. She won the TBS Championship, and she held it for over 520 days, in which she beat everyone. She then lost them all, and Toni Storm beat her. She was out injured, and now she has returned and won the Owen Hart Cup once again.
Due to her winning, she will once again be competing for the World Championship. Last year was not so great, and she would look to beat Thekla and win the one title that has eluded her.
This has the potential to be as great as Mercedes Mone vs. Maya World was at AEW Forbidden Door. These two women need to tell a compelling story for 2 months, as AEW All In will be on 30th August 2026 at Wembley Stadium. It must look like an even rivalry, and Thekla has to look like she can beat this all-time legend. This match needs to be close to 30 minutes and be one of the longest women’s Matches of all time. AEW is in a very good spot, but it can get better. Mercedes Mone will want to outshine the men that will compete at AEW All In.
