The T20I World Cup 2026 will start from 7th February and will feature 20 teams. This is the Second edition where 20 teams will play the tournament. The prize money for this tournament is a record for this tournament. A total of 113 crores have been allocated as prize money.

The total prize money for the tournament is $13.5 million dollars which equals approx 113 crores. This is a 20% increase from the 2024 tournament held in the West Indies and USA. It was $11.25 million in 2024. The prize money has been distributed amongst the 20 teams depending on where they finish in the World Cup.


Champions - $3 million dollars or 25.1 Crores

Runners Up - $1.6 million or 13.4 Crores

Losing Semi finalists - $960,000 or 8 Crores

Teams finishing 5th 12th - $450,000 or 3.7 Crores

Participation Fees for all 20 Teams - $300,000 or 2.5 Crores.

 

Match Bonus

There is a match bonus for all the teams in the Group Stages and the Super 8 stage. A team will receive a bonus of $31,154 for winning a match in the group Stages.


If a team wins the entire tournament undefeated then that team will get $3 million dollars plus all the bonuses they will get from winning the matches.


This Prize Money will be the same for the upcoming Women’s T20I World Cup after the ICC mandate in 2023. The Final of the ICC T20I World Cup 2026 will be held on 8th March.
