Contenders to win US Open 2023

The US Open will be the last Grand Slam of the year and it will take place from 28th August 2023 to 10th September 2023. It will happen at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York where it is held every year. This is a hard Court Grand Slam just like the Australian Open. There are a few Contenders for both the men’s and women’s singles events and this would be one of the best US Open events in a long time.

Let’s look at the Contenders to win the Men’s and Women’s Singles events at the US Open

Men’s Singles

Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic will surely be one of the favorites to win the US Open and especially after the heartbreaking loss that he suffered at Wimbledon a few months back and he will be eager to win Grand Slam number 24 and he has got time to prepare for the event and he has not won this Slam in a few years so he will like to get another US Open to make it 6 titles and be at the Top. The field at the US Open should be very scared of Novak Djokovic because a motivated and a hungry Novak Djokovic is the most dangerous.

Carlos Alcaraz

The second player who is the favorite to win the US Open is the winner from last year Carlos Alcaraz and he has only gotten better this year and he has recently won Wimbledon which will give him lots of confidence and he wants to prove that the win at last year’s US Open was not a Fluke as he would love to beat Novak Djokovic for the title again but it will not be easy. He has won 2 Grand Slams in his career and he has many more to win. This 20 year Tennis player from Spain is following in the footsteps of Rafael Nadal.

Women’s Singles

Iga Swiatek

The number 1 player in the world has to be the favorite to win the US Open events though she did not have a good Wimbledon. She has won multiple Grand Slams and she would love to add the US Open to that list but she will have to play at her best to beat everyone because the women’s Singles field is the most Open one in Tennis as anyone can beat anyone. Iga Swiatek needs to win this to justify her number 1 ranking.

Aryna Sabalenka

The world number 2 player in the world has to ge the second favorite to win or else she would not have been ranked the second best tennis player in the world. Aryna Sabalenka is the most ferocious tennis player in the Women’s Singles event as she hits the tennis ball harder than anyone and the US Open will suit her very well as it is a hard Court. She needs to win more Grand Slams as she has only won 1 and that is not good for number 2 on the world.

Surprises can always happen at Grand Slams as no one predicted that Marketa Vondrousova will win the Women’s singles Wimbledon title so there is always a possibility that a player can surprise any time and that will be very interesting to watch. It is more likely to happen in the Women’s Singles than the Men where there are 2 clear players who are way above anyone else.
