The 3rd season of WPL 2025 will start from 14th February 2025. This will be a month long season and the final will be on 15th March. The venues for this tournament are Vadodara, Bengaluru, Lucknow and Mumbai. Mumbai Indians won the first season and the RCB team won their first ever trophy as they won the second season of WPL.
Let’s look at the Top 5 Players to Watch Out For in WPL 2025
Smriti Mandhana – RCB

The captain of the RCB team and the defending champions. Smriti Mandhana has had a mixed WPL career as a batter. However, her recent form in international cricket has been great. She made 747 runs in 13 ODIs in 2024. She hit 4 Hundreds and was also the ICC Women’s ODI Player of the year. In the first WPL season in 2023, she had a terrible season as she made 149 Matches from 8 Matches. In 2024, Smriti Mandhana made 300 runs from 10 Matches and was the winning captain. She would look to have her best season and make more than 400 runs. This will also help her prepare for the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup later in the year.
Deepti Sharma – UP Warriorz

The newly appointed captain of the UP Warriorz Deepti Sharma will also be one of the players to watch out for. Her leadership skills will be put to the test. Deepti is a proper all rounder as she has scored 385 runs in WPL at an average of 38.50 and a strike rate of 118.82. She bowls off spin and in the 17 Matches she has played, Deepti Sharma has taken 19 wickets. Out of the 385 runs, 290 of them came in the 2024 season. Deepti would look to lead by example and contribute with both bat and ball. Deepti has also taken a hat trick in the WPL. She is only the second bowler and the first Indian bowler to achieve this landmark.
Ashleigh Gardner – Gujarat Giants

Gujarat Giants have also announced a new captain and Ashleigh Gardener will be their new skipper. The previous skipper Beth Mooney was not at her best the previous 2 seasons as Gujarat Giants were last both seasons. Ashleigh Gardener has won World Cups with Australia and also the 2022 Commonwealth Games Gold Medal in 2022. Ashleigh Gardener has played 16 WPL Matches and she has scored 324 runs and she has also taken 17 Wickets with the ball. The 2024 season was a poor season by her standards as she only took 7 wickets. The new captain for the Gujarat Giants will look to make sure that her team is in the Top 3.
Harmanpreet Kaur – Mumbai Indians

The winning captain of the 2023 WPL season Harmanpreet Kaur is a player that will be one to watch out for. She would want to win her second title in 2025. Harmanpreet Kaur made 268 runs in the 2024 WPL season. She also made 281 runs in the 2023 season which means she has scored a total of 548 runs in 2 seasons.
