The 2026 edition of the Women's Premier League was a spectacular edition, which saw RCB winning their second title after defeating DC by 6 wickets in the final. It was a splendid performance from the RCB team, who were consistent throughout the season.
The whole season, though, saw a lot of brilliant performances from Indian and Overseas players. The likes of Smriti Mandhana, Sophie Devine, Lauren Bell, Nandini Sharma, and many more showed exceptional prowess.
Here's a look at the WPL 2026 Team of the tournament.
1: Smriti Mandhana - Captain
There is surely no doubt that Smriti Mandhana should be at the top of this list, as she was at her best throughout the tournament. She won the Orange Cap for scoring the most runs (377), which included 87 in just 41 balls against the Delhi Capitals to help the Royal Challengers Bengaluru win the trophy. Mandhana was consistent throughout the tournament and also got close to scoring the first century of WPL earlier in the season against DC, but she fell short by four runs. To go along with her batting, she was an excellent skipper as well, showing fine tactical knowledge.
2: Lizelle Lee
Playing her first WPL season, Lizelle Lee showed why she is regarded as one of the best batters in this format. Opening the batting for Delhi Capitals, Lizelle scored 320 runs, which included two half-centuries. What was most impressive about her was her strike rate. She scored runs at almost 140. She was one of the reasons that the Delhi Capitals were getting off to decent starts in the Powerplay.
3: Sophie Devine
The New Zealand all-rounder was the standout performer for Gujarat Giants this season. She stood tall with both bat and ball, and she rightly won the Player of the Tournament award. She played nine games and smashed 243 runs, which included an innings of 95 runs in just 42 balls. She not only delivered with the bat but also with the ball. She finished as the highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 17 wickets. She also had taken the responsibility of bowling the final over and delivered twice against the Delhi Capitals when she defended low scores in the 20th over.
4: Nat-Sciver Brunt
Nat-Sciver Brunt was in full flow and was easily the Mumbai Indians’ best player in the tournament this year. She scored 321 runs in just seven games and also became the first batter to reach a century in WPL history, scoring it against the eventual champions, RCB. Nat also contributed with eight wickets to her name, and she rightly has her name in this list.
5: Harmanpreet Kaur
Harmanpreet Kaur, the skipper of the Mumbai Indians, had another splendid season with the bat as she was the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament, behind Smriti Mandhana. She scored 342 runs, which included three fifties. Her ability to finish games came to the fore as she almost took the Mumbai Indians home against the Gujarat Giants in their final league game, but it did not pan out. She, though, kept everyone on their toes when she was on the field.
6: Richa Ghosh - Wicketkeeper
Richa Ghosh had another fine season with RCB in 2026 as she continued to show her firepower with the bat. She scored 189 runs, which included a 90 against the Mumbai Indians. That knock saved RCB’s net run-rate as they were in trouble chasing a score above 200, and it seemed as if RCB would lose by a huge margin, but Ghosh’s knock got their score closer to Mumbai’s, and their net run-rate was not damaged much.
7: Nadine de Klerk
Nadine de Klerk filled the absence of Ellyse Perry perfectly for RCB as she delivered a performance for the ages with both bat and ball. She scored 133 runs, which included a match-winning knock in the first game of the tournament against the Mumbai Indians. She was brilliant with the ball as well, picking up 16 wickets. She was key in the middle overs for RCB as she used to provide RCB with crucial wickets in that period.
8: Lauren Bell
Playing in her first season for RCB, Lauren Bell had an impressive season with the ball. She gave RCB a great start every time with the ball and never let her team down. She picked up 12 wickets in nine games but also bowled the most number of dot balls in the tournament, which is extremely crucial in T20s.
9: Shreyanka Patil
Shreyanka Patil may have had a tough time in the final with the ball, but there is no doubt about her contribution to RCB throughout the season. In nine games, Shreyanka took 11 wickets and also managed to pick up a five-fer in a game against Gujarat Giants. She consistently bowled in the Powerplay and in the death overs and did relatively well.
10: Nandani Sharma
Nandani Sharma was the breakout star of this year’s WPL as she performed splendidly well for Delhi throughout the season. She was the leading Indian wicket-taker this season and also picked up a 5-wicket haul, including a hat-trick. She took 17 wickets in 10 matches and became the backbone of Delhi’s bowling attack which also included Marizanne Kapp.
11: Shree Charani
Shree Charani proved to be a valuable addition to the Delhi Capitals’ bowling line-up in WPL 2026. She picked up 14 wickets and provided timely breakthroughs for her side. She was one of the reasons that Delhi reached the finals.
