Mexico’s Greatest Icon was Decimated
The show started with Rey Mysterio in the Ring, and he got loud cheers from the Mexican crowd. He welcomed the new Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer, who got the best reception that she has ever gotten on TV. The fans went crazy for her. Stephanie Vaquer was emotional seeing the love from the WWE fans. However, that joy was short-lived as Liv Morgan came out, and she was angry because the referee, Becky Lynch, helped Stephanie Vaquer get the title in Chile. Liv was demanding a rematch.
Dominik Mysterio was not far behind, and he got booed out of the building as he was insulting Rey Mysterio. Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio challenged Rey Mysterio and Stephanie Vaquer to a Mixed tag team match. Rey Mysterio was injured and clearly not in any position to wrestle. This resulted in the arrival of the new AAA Mega Champion, El Grande Americano, who probably got the biggest pop of the night. He came out and accepted the challenge for a mixed tag team match. Before the match could start, The Judgement Day tried attacking, but Stephanie Vaquer hit the 619 on both Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio. The match started, and it was a 14-minute tag team match.
This was a very good match, but the rest of The Judgement Day attacked everyone, but Rey Mysterio was the victim of their attack. They laid out the WWE Hall of Famer, and finally, after months, Rey Mysterio has a storyline which he can sink his teeth into. This was also an important night for both Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio because over the weekend they both lost their World titles. Therefore, they needed a big moment on Raw, and they got one. Now going forward, Liv Morgan will want a rematch against Stephanie Vaquer at Money in the Bank.
Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio will reignite their feud, which will give both men something to do. Triple H has had a home run weekend with Raw, TripleMania and SmackDown. WWE needs to do more combined shows in cities that actually love professional wrestling. They will do the same at the end of the year in Perth, Australia. Roxanne Perez needs to break out of The Judgement Day and become a babyface again. The next few months could see WWE and Triple H get back to highs of WrestleMania 40 and fans buying tickets at record levels.
