WWE has been going through a fresh new wave of creative decisions that are making the fans happy. They made Sami Zayn a 2 time WWE Champion on SmackDown and last night in Chile they pulled the trigger on a massive title change. Stephanie Vaquer was facing Liv Morgan in her home country with Becky Lynch as the special guest referee.
Let’s talk about this title change and what it means for WWE going forward
Stephanie Vaquer is Women’s World Champion
WWE has been going through a renaissance at the moment because they have been criticised all year by fans for having lazy creative and not taking bold calls. The trip that WWE is on to Mexico and South America has changed that perspective. On WWE SmackDown Sami Zayn beat CM Punk to win the WWE Championship when nobody expected him to. And on Saturday night it was Stephanie Vaquer vs Liv Morgan in front of a Chilean crowd that was loud for their heroine. Becky Lynch was the special guest referee so that Liv Morgan couldn’t use cheating to retain. This was a very good match going by the people who were there live.
Liv was consistently attacking Stephanie and she was also going at the referee Becky Lynch. Stephanie Vaquer would come back as a babyface which would make the 12,000 fans present at the arena lose their minds. Stephanie Vaquer is the first ever main event level WWE superstar from Chile. Liv Morgan made Becky Lynch mad because when she hit Oblivion, Becky Lynch refused to count. Stephanie Vaquer took advantage of this moment and hit her beautiful MoonSault and pinned Liv Morgan to win the title. This is huge because WWE doing a title change at a house show happens once every 10 years. Since this show was in Chile therefore the chances increased but this is a Word Championship.
The happenings of this past weekend has filled the fans with excitement again about WWE as they can do anything at any time. The fans might think something will happen for sure but then WWE will Swerve them and do something else. Stephanie Vaquer has earned this moment ever since she lost the title at WrestleMania. When she won the pop that the fans in Chile gave was special and the reason that WWE did the title change. Hopefully the Women’s World Championship will be defended more often. Penta is facing Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship in Raw but the title change in that match is almost impossible to happen. Triple H needs to continue the momentum and the excitement around WWE will be back full time again.
