NXT Battleground was held on 25th May 2025 in Tampa Florida. There were more than 8000 fans that had turned up to attend the show. This was going head to head against AEW Double or Nothing. The matches at this show were very good. There was a shocking result that also happened at NXT Battleground.

Sol Ruca beat Kelani Jordan for NXT Women’s North American Championship
This was yet another incredible match between these two women. Zaria was in the corner of Sol Ruca. This was a 13 minute match. Kelani Jordan was in control for the match. Kelani Jordan was at the top rope going for a dive but it was countered by Sol Ruca for an X factor move. Kelani Jordan hit a springboard MoonSault on the outside on the floor to Sol Ruca. Zaria was trying to help Sol Ruca but the referee spotted her and elected her. Kelani made a five star frog splash but Sol Ruca kicked out. Sol Ruca hit a Spear on Kelani Jordan and she followed it up with a Sol Snatcher that was incredible for the win.
Channing Lorenzo beat Tony D’ Angelo
This was the grudge match on this show. This was a 15 minute match that did not need to go so long. Tony D was dominant from the start of the match. He hit 2 Spinebusters on Channing Lorenzo but he did not go for the fall but kept punching his opponent. Channing Lorenzo was not hesitant to go low as he used the low blow on his mentor. Luca Crucifino was there to help and Channing for the win. This was a good showing for both men and it looks like Tony D will finally go to the main roster. This was however not the last match of their feud and there will be one more match.
Stephanie Vaquer beat Jordynne Grace for NXT Women’s Championship
This was one of the most anticipated Matches of the show. It was between the two best wrestlers in NXT. This was a 16 minute battle. Both women were showing their power. They were hitting solid punches on one another and hitting each other with Suplexes. Stephanie Vaquer tried to hit the Devil’s Kiss but Jordynne Grace countered it and hit the champion on the table. Jordynne Grace hit the Jackhammer but she was unable to get the win. After hitting each other with everything it was the champion that got the win. Jordynne Grace has a tough road ahead and it will be interesting to see what she does.
Oba Femi beat Myles Bourne for NXT Championship
This was the main event of the evening. This was the longest match of the show at 17 minutes. Myles Bourne was up to the challenge. Oba Femi was dominating the start of the match as he tossed around his opponent. It looked like Myles Bourne would go down easily. However, Myles Bourne was working at a slow and methodical pace. The fans were firmly in the corner of Oba Femi in this match. Myles Bourne tried hitting a MoonSault but it was Oba Femi who countered it into a Chokeslam for a near fall. Oba Femi hit the Powerbomb to win the match but the main objective of the match was achieved as it made Myles Bourne into a Star.
Trick Williams beat Joe Hendry for TNA Championship
This was the main event of the show. The fans were firmly in the corner of the champion Joe Hendry. Both jeb had a 15 minute match which was very good. They had different wrestling styles which mashed very well. Trick was acting full heel in this match. Joe Hendry was acting like a showman for the fans and Trick Williams was at his aggressive best. Trick Williams hit a Trickshot but Joe Hendry kicked out. Trick hit the Falls away Slam for a close fall. Joe Hendry hit the Chokeslam but Trick Williams kicked out. In the end , Trick Williams hit the champion with the title followed by another Trickshot to win the match and the TNA Championship. This is the first time that an active WWE wrestler has won the TNA World Championship. WWE and TNA can tell a great story with cross promotional matches.
