The Shield has had some of the greatest Rivalries with other great stables but the one that stands among all is the 2 month feud that they had against Evolution which is considered one of the greatest stables of all time and for the fans it was clear this time who were the heels and who were the faces. The Shield had been dominating everyone and as a last resort Evolution which was broken for almost a decade decided to reunite to take on The Shield.
This Rivalry is one that is remembered fondly even today because the WWE Universe rarely gets to see 2 evenly matched and equally great factions face off like this.

Context
Before one looks at this great Rivalry it is important to give context for this Feud. The Shield were dominant for over 2 years and there was no one who could stop them when they were United. The Shield were quickly becoming the greatest faction in WWE history. And The Evolution were tired of seeing their spotlight taken away by these new guys so they decided to get together again and take on The Shield.

The Start
The start of this feud was after WrestleMania 30 and it started with Evolution mocking The Shield because they were trying to copy them and that they were not as good as them . They were acting as full blown heels and The Shield had enough and they challenged Evolution to a match at Extreme Rules in 2014. And the fans were excited as they were about to see greatness in the ring.

It was a brutal match which lasted for almost 30 minutes and neither team gave an inch and it was awesome to see three 6 going at it and it looked many times that Evolution would win but the teamwork of The Shield was next level and after everything Evolution threw at then at the end The Shield got the win which angered Evolution deeply.

Payback
This was the next PPV event following Extreme Rules and the name of the event was perfect because that’s what exactly Evolution wanted against The Shield and thus a final match was set and it was a No Holds Barred match where anything goes and this was even better than their Extreme Rules match and this time for sure it looked like Evolution would finally get the win but yet again the unity of The Shield was too much to handle and it was 2-0 in favor of The Shield and this little feud helped The Shield to become truly one of the greatest factions of all time. All the three members of The Shield Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Jon Moxley are multiple time World Champions just like the members of Evolution.
