WrestleMania 42 Sunday was like TKO let Triple H and WWE handle the professional wrestling business completely and the result was that this second night of WrestleMania was one of the best WrestleMania nights of the last 10 years. Everything had purpose tonight and there were some incredible matches. WWE should be like Night 2 of WrestleMania going forward. There were 6 Matches on WrestleMania 42 Sunday.
Let’s look at the Results for WrestleMania 42 Sunday
Oba Femi beat Brock Lesnar
This was the first match of the second night and it was booked to perfection. Oba Femi made his entrance with his legendary strut and 55,000 fans chanting Oba Oba. The match was 5 minutes but it was impactful. Brock was selling for Oba. His clotheslines were not hitting Oba Femi at all but one clothesline from Oba was knocking down Brock. Brock hit 3 Suplexes but it was not enough. Brock Lesnar hit the F5 but Oba got back up and hit a Fall From Grace to win the match. Oba Femi was a mad man. After the match something shocking happened as Brock Lesnar retired from professional wrestling as he put his gloves and boots in the ring. He hugged Paul Heynan and they were both in tears. It was the first time that WWE fans have seen Brock Lesnar crying so much. It is the end of one of the most legendary Careers in WWE history. There will never be another Brock Lesnar. Thank You for all the memories.
Penta Beat Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee, JD Mcdonagh, Rusev and Je’Von Evans in a Ladder Match for Intercontinental Championship
The six pack ladder match lived up to the expectations and it delivered 15 minutes of pure adrenaline and great action. Rey Mysterio and Penta got special entrances. Penta in one spot gave a Mexican Destroyer to JD Mcdonagh on top of a ladder. Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee tag teamed as Rey Mysterio dived over the top rope to land on Rusev who was laying on top of a ladder. Later in the match Rusev was going for the title but Je’Von gave one of his best OG Cutters of all time. Rusev used his power to hit each of the other 5 men with ladders. The climax happened when Penta gave Evans a Mexican Destroyer in the ring and then climbed the ladder to retain the Intercontinental Championship. This was excellent all the way around.
Trick Williams beat Sami Zayn for United States Championship
This was the shortest match of night 2 at 7 minutes. However in those 7 minutes these 2 men told a great story. Sami Zayn was being booed by the fans and Trick Williams had a great entrance. Sami Zayn was targeting the leg of Sami Zayn so he could not use the Trick Shot. Sami Zayn was acting heelish as he was hitting Trick behind his back. Sami Zayn hit the Blue Thunder Bomb but Trick kicked out. As Sami Zayn was going for Helluva Kick, Trick countered it with a big kick and then he hit him with Trick Shot and won the United States Championship. Trick Williams celebrated with his mom and dad and officially turned babyface.
The Demon Finn Balor beat Dominik Mysterio in Street Fight
The Demon Finn Balor had one of the best entrances at WrestleMania 42. He was in Full Demon gear and this was a way more competitive match than anyone had anticipated. The Demon dominated the first part of this match but then Dominik Mysterio actually was getting the better of his opponent. He hit him with kendo sticks and chairs on the back. Dominik then hit the 619 and the Frog Splash but The Demon kicked out at 1. The Demon hit a number of sling blades and Dominik Mysterio again hit the 619 with a chair across the neck of The Demon and hit another Frog Splash but to no avail. To end the match The Demon hit the Coup De Grass to Dominik Mysterio and crashed the table. He won the match and it was 11 minutes of great wrestling.
Rhea Ripley beat Jade Cargill for WWE Women’s Championship
This was the only women’s match on the second night of WrestleMania 42 and it was better than all the 3 of Night 1. Jade had a superhero entrance and Rhea Ripley got one of the biggest pops of the night. Jade had one of her best matches in WWE. She hit Jaded on Rhea Ripley on the floor and Rhea Ripley beat the count. Rhea hit a vertical Suplex and Jade countered with a Suplex of her own. The match was 10 minutes and B Fab and Michin came out to try and help Rhea Ripley. Then Iyo Sky came out and got a massive pop and Rhea Ripley hit Riptide to win her 4th World Championship. She will be a part of the SmackDown roster going forward.
Roman Reigns beat CM Punk for World Heavyweight Championship
The main event of WrestleMania 42 was 34 minutes of some of the greatest professional wrestling ever seen at WrestleMania. These two men hit a Slam Dunk and showed why they are the Top 2 in WWE. Roman Reigns had another incredible entrance and he came out with his original Head of the Table music. CM Punk had another great Entrance as he was feeling the moment of closing a WrestleMania. These two went at it from the word go. Roman Reigns hit a Superman punch but it was not enough. They broke both the announce tables. Roman Reigns Powerbombed CM Punk through one of the tables. CM Punk hit a sudden GTS but Roman kicked out. CM Punk was bleeding and Roman Reigns hit a Spear but CM Punk kicked out. The match was becoming great and then CM Punk gave an elbow drop to Roman Reigns through the second announce table. The 55,000 fans were cheering for both men as they were hitting each other with Punches, Kicks, chops. CM Punk hit a GTS but as he was going for a second his body gave out. Roman Reigns took advantage and hit 2 Spears to win the World Heavyweight Championship. After 2 years Roman Reigns is once again champion. This was one of the greatest WrestleMania main events of all time. WrestleMania 42 Sunday was absolutely incredible.
