WrestleMania Backlash 2022 Results

The 2022 edition of WrestleMania Backlash was held at Providence, Road Island on Sunday 8th May and the PPV started at 5.30 am India time. It was a filler PPV event with rematches of WrestleMania but what happened in the show today proved that the wrestlers can make any shows better and this was one of the best wrestling PPVs of the year and the match quality was better than WrestleMania. We will look at the results in detail below.

There were a total of 6 matches on the show and the run time of the show was 3 hours which means all the important matches got time to tell a story and be a banger and that’s what the best part about this show was. WWE shows us that they can make any show great and kudos to all the wrestlers in this incredible show. Let’s look at the results.

Cody Rhodes vs Seth Rollins

This was the match that opened the show and as it Is said that if you cannot close the show then you should be the first match and these 2 stole the show as they had a 23 minutes classic which was even better than their WrestleMania match. The in ring chemistry that these 2 have is tremendous and the fans loved every second of it. They started hot by going at each other and reversing each other’s moves and slowly they picked up the pace and hit unique moves to beat the other and when the finish came everyone was at their edge of the seats as Cody pulled the tights of Seth Rollins to win thus setting the path to the Third and final match inside Hell in a Cell.

Bobby Lashley vs Omos

This was a fun 10 minutes match where 2 big men were going at each other to prove who the stronger one is and as Bobby Lashley is so experienced, he carried Omos during the match and this was many times better than their WrestleMania match and where there was more in ring work by Omos and in the end it was Omos who beat Bobby Lashley and MVP waa happy. This was an important win for Omos as this build the momentum he needed.

AJ Styles vs Edge

The third rematch from WrestleMania and this time there were a lot of expectations from this match as these 2 legends had a rare lackluster match at WrestleMania so they went out tonight and had a much better match which was more fast paced yet told a great story. They had another 20 minute technical classic where they showed the world what decades of in ring experience can bring and both of them tonight were wrestling with a point to prove. AJ Styles had a bad arm and when he was about to hit the Forearm a Mysterious figure threw AJ from the top rope and allowed Edge to win. The person revealed was Rhea Ripley and this was the best move for her to join this stable.

Charlotte Flair vs Ronda Rousey- *I Quit Match” for SmackDown Women’s Championship

If there was an award to be given for the level of improvement from the first match to this one then it would go to these 1 women. The match they had at WrestleMania was bad and everyone expected another bad match but these 2 went out there , best the heck out of each other for 18 minutes and showed that Women’s wrestling can be as brutal as the men. They had in my opinion the best rematch out of the three when we compare to the original, It www violent, hard hitting and sometimes uncomfortable to watch and that is what an “I Quit Match” means. Ronda Rousey won the title when she trapped the arm of Charlotte Flair in a chair for an armbar.

Happy Corbin vs Madcap Moss

This was the only match on the show that was the least good and no one really cared but they had a decent 12 minute match where Moss showed that he had a lot of potential if he dropped this bad gimmick and Corbin is as always one of the best heels in the business. He makes hating him so easy and that is awesome. These 2 should go in different directions now.

The Usos and Roman Reigns vs RkBro and Drew McIntyre

Finally it was time for the main event of the show and what a banger of a main event it was. I wish this match had some stakes but still these 6 Men went out there for 30 minutes and tore the house down. The bloodline came out first and then Randy Orton came out and he was Over as anything. The bloodline dominated this match for much of the beginning sbd then Drew McIntyre made a hot tag first beating everyone and then all hell broke lose as Randy Orton came out to tag and he hit a beautiful RKO on Roman Reigns and another one on Jimmy Uso and when it looked like Riddle was going to win , Roman Reigns hit a spear and won it fir The Bloodline. It was a great way to end the show.
