The next big PPV event from WWE after the most Stupendous WrestleMania is WrestleMania Backlash. Firstly I have no idea why they call it this way but nonetheless the card announced till now looks very exciting and the prospect of adding more quality matches is raising my excitement levels for this show. It is generally a very good show every year and who can forget that in 2020 at WrestleMania Backlash we had Edge vs Randy Orton in The Greatest Wrestling match ever and they delivered for 45 minutes straight. I am expecting a few matches here to steal the show.
This is a very important year for WWE as they will be doing multiple stadium shows this year , far more than what they have done in previous years and so this event becomes important to lure the fans to sell out all the big shows later In the year. I am really liking the female representation on this card till now and there is potential to add one more match which we will talk about later. And no WWE PPV is complete without Roman Reigns. So, let’s look at the Matches announced and the likely matches that can be added to the show.
Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte Flair- “I Quit” Match for SmackDown Women’s Championship
I know a lot of fans are crapping all over this feud as these are two wrestlers they don’t like and they are judging their opinions based on that and they don’t give these two a fair chance of winning them over but for me this will be the match that will silence all the doubters. Charlotte Flair is the best female wrestler in WWE and has been fir years and the others are catching up to her level and Ronda Rousey is well… Ronda Rousey and they will have a point to prove In this match. Since it has such a brutal stipulation, the outcome of this rivalry will be seen from this match and Two women having an “I Quit” match is rare and that makes it even more exciting to see what all these two can do to destroy each other and say those 2 dreaded words.
Bianca Belair vs Sonya Deville- Raw Women’s Championship
Bianca Belair is the single most impressive new star in WWE and her excellent Performances at the last two WrestleMania events shows us that. She is just so calm under the biggest stage and her dance partners in the ring have been two of the best in Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch. Coming out of WrestleMania one would have thought a returning star like Bayley or Asuka would have challenged Bianca but there has to be someone who has to take the first loss and who better than the Power hungry Sonya Deville who abused her power to get this match. This is her first PPV match since SummerSlam a few years ago so it is a chance for Sonya to show that she has still got it. This will be a good match but there is only 1 winner in this match and that is Bianca Belair.
Cody Rhodes vs Seth Rollins
I would not be wrong in saying that this is one of the most anticipated rematches in modern WWE history considering the level of the 2 wrestlers we are talking about. At WrestleMania Seth Rollins needed an opponent and we all hoped it would be Cody Rhodes and sure enough it was and they had what I think is the best match of the two nights just eclipsing Becky vs Bianca. They told such a good story and Cody Rhodes got an emotional win in his first match but this time Seth Rollins can prepare for him for weeks and so the rematch will be harder to call but I still think Cody will win as he is being built as a megastar again and 2 wins over Seth Rollins would do it. These two can also have match of the night.
