WWE and AEW are two of the premier wrestling promotions that are there in the world. Wrestlers have been shifting from one promotion to the other more frequently in recent times. However when AEW started there were only transitions from WWE to the new promotion. From the many that have switched there have been a few that have become successful.

Jon Moxley
Jon Moxley was one of the first WWE superstars to go to AEW. He has been in AEW for more than 6 years. He has been one of the most successful transitions in history. Jon Moxley has been a multi time World Champion in AEW. He has main evented All In which is their biggest show of the year. Jon Moxley has formed a faction known as Death Riders. In WWE Dean Ambrose was the least utilized member of The Shield. Jon Moxley is a lifer in AEW. He has rarely taken a vacation and whenever Tony Khan has asked him he has been available.
Swerve Strickland
There has not been another wrestler whose fortunes have changed completely because he joined AEW from WWE. WWE only saw him as a tag team act and that was their mistake. AEW saw the true potential in Swerve Strickland and he joined in 2021. He worked hard on his wrestling and he became the first black AEW World Champion when he headlined All In. Swerve Strickland has formed a great bond with Will Osperay. Swerve Strickland is one of the Top 5 Wrestlers in AEW currently. He will also never leave the company.
Timeless Toni Storm
There has not been a woman who has changed the trajectory of her career just by changing promotions. It is safe to say that Toni Storm made the correct decision to switch her career status. She has been a multi time Women’s Champion and her Timeless Toni Storm gimmick has taken her to the top of women’s wrestling in the world. Toni Storm has had legendary feuds against Mariah May, Mercedes Mone, Kris Statlander and many more. Toni Storm is still in her 20s and she will be competing with Rhea Ripley to becoming the biggest star from Australia.
Bryan Danielson
Among all the wrestlers in this list, Bryan Danielson is the only one who left the WWE after achieving everything he could and he wanted to become the American Dragon and bleed in his matches. Bryan Danielson was a multi time World Champion in WWE and in AEW he has had some of the best Matches of his career. His Matches against Kenny Omega, Will Osperay, Swerve Strickland, MJF, Kyle Fletcher are incredible. Bryan Danielson has retired from professional wrestling and he is now on commentary.
Mercedes Mone
Mercedes Mone has been in AEW for 2 years but she has already made a very successful transition from WWE to AEW. In the 2 years she was TBS Champion for more than 500 days and she has held 11 titles at the same time from various promotions such as ROH, HOG etc. Mercedes Mone has had matches against Toni Storm, Kris Statlander, Athena, Bozilla, Persephone etc. She has elevated everyone she has been in the Ring with. Mercedes Mone will not go back to WWE anytime soon.
