WWE SummerSlam Saturday for 2025 was one of the best shows of the year for WWE. This night had 3 Matches that were amazing and one match that was the best WWE Match of the year. This show on Sunday had 6 championship Matches. Triple H cooked for the first ever 2 night SummerSlam.
Let’s look at the Results for WWE SummerSlam 2025 Sunday
Naomi beats Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky for Women’s World Championship
This was the first match on the night. It was 3 women who were at the Top of their game. To start the match Naomi was dominating both her opponents and she systemically took out them. Naomi hit lethal kicks to Iyo Sky and she Suplexed Rhea Ripley on the mat. This was a 16 minutes match and Rhea and Iyo came back to double team against Naomi. After Naomi was taken out, Rhea and Iyo wrestled each other and the fans went crazy. Iyo hit a Poison Rana to Rhea. Deep into the match, Iyo wanted to hit the MoonSault but Rhea hit the Super Riptide from the top rope but Naomi weasted her way in and rolled up Rhea to get the win and retain the title.
The Wyatt Sicks Won the TLC Match to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship
This was the biggest TLC Match in WWE history. This match had 6 teams and this match was 16 minutes long. It was one of the craziest Matches of the year. The teams in this match were The Wyatt Sicks, DIY, Street Profits, Motor City Machine Guns, Fraxiom and Andrade and Rey Fenix. There were some insane table spots where Rey Fenix gave a Frog splash through the table. Axiom gave a Spanish fly to Montez Ford through a table. Candice Lerae came to the ring but then B Fab and Nikki Cross also interfered and Candice Lerae took a nasty bump through a ladder. Uncle Howdy was given a Powerbomb through a ladder. Joe Gacy was the star of the match as he was selling for his opponents. In the end the numbers that the Wyatt Sicks had were too much and they retained the tag team titles.
Becky Lynch beat Lyra Valkyria for Women’s Intercontinental Championship
This was the second women’s match on the night and the fourth women’s match at SummerSlam 2025. These two women wrestled each other for 25 minutes and it was a very good match but this lacked the magic that these two women have produced the previous 3 times. Becky Lynch got the early advantage as she started punishing Lyra with kendo sticks. Lyra tried to make a comeback but Becky Lynch tied her hands and Lyra was unable to do much. Becky then proceeded to tie her to the outside and beat her with kendo sticks. Becky Lynch hit the Manhandle Slam in two chairs but Lyra Valkyria kicked out. Lyra Valkyria made a comeback as she blew from the fire extinguisher into the eyes of Becky Lynch. Near the end of the match, Becky Lynch was going to use the clutch but Bayley saved Lyra. There was a great spot where Lyra Valkyria slammed Becky through the table. Bayley accidentally hit Lyra and that allowed Becky Lynch to pick up the win. This was 25 minutes of pure wrestling from two of the best.
Solo Sikoa beat Jacob Fatu for United States Championship in a Steel Cage Match
This was the part of the show where the next 2 Matches including this one were not of the highest quality. This one however was the weakest match on the show. It was Solo Sikoa with the MFT against Jacob Fatu. Solo Sikoa dominated early as he took control of the match. He hit Jacob with the Running knees to the face. This was 12 minutes and Jacob Fatu made a comeback and he hit Solo with the Samoan Drop. The MFT intervened but Jimmy Uso made the save for Jacob Fatu. The MFT did everything and in the end Solo Sikoa won the match. After the match Jacob Fatu was pissed and he took out Tonga Loa and JC Mateo.
Dominik Mysterio beat AJ Styles for Intercontinental Championship
This was the match that paid tributes to Eddie Guerrero throughout the match. AJ Styles came in the lowrider and he had his son wear the same blonde hair that Dominik had in 2005. This was a 11 minute fun match. AJ Styles was dominating early on as he hit the forearm and the calf crusher but Dominik got out. There was a great spot where first Dominik Mysterio had the chair but he passed it to AJ Styles and lied down. AJ then wrapped the chair around his neck and lied down. The fans were invested and at the end Dominik opened the chain of his boot and when AJ Styles hit the calf crusher Don got out , hit the 619 and the Frog splash and got the win.
Cody Rhodes beat John Cena for WWE Championship in a Street Fight
This was the main event that both men deserved. This was the best WWE match of the year. This was John Cena at his absolute best. This was 38 minutes of two of the best going at it. John Cena had one of his best entrances as he changed from the black to the colourful and the fans went ballistic. John Cena and Cody Rhodes were hitting punches, clotheslines at each other to start the match. John Cena hit an AA but Cody Rhodes kicked out. Cody Rhodes dominated a part of this match where he hit John Cena with Cody cutters and Disaster kicks. John Cena kicked out Cross Rhodes. They then went outside of the ring and John Cena had an incredible spot where he came out with Cody Rhodes in the AA position from the ramp where Cody Rhodes comes from. John Cena was at his absolute best like he was during the 2016 era against AJ Styles. Cody Rhodes first hit 3 Cross Rhodes on John Cena but he kicked out. Super Cena was back in action. John Cena then hit 3 AAs including one from the middle rope and Cody kicked out. Cody Rhodes took out the middle rope and he was beating John Cena with it. The match had reached a crescendo and Cody Rhodes in the end gave a Salute to John Cena and hit a final Cross Rhodes for the win. This was a match that both men should be very proud of. There were no interferences and Cody Rhodes has become WWE champion for a second time.
Brock Lesnar Shocks the World with his Return
After the absolutely incredible Street Fight Match, John Cena and Cody Rhodes hugged it out and they were very emotional. Cody Rhodes then raised the hand of John Cena and he left the ring. John Cena was about to leave and then the Guitar riff was heard around the world as Brock Lesnar shocked the world and returned to WWE. There were zero reports about this happening. The fans at the arena and at home lost their minds as the possibility of this happening was zero. Brock Lesnar got an insane pop and then he took out John Cena. This was absolutely staggering. Triple H said that the fans haven’t seen anything yet after night 1 and he was right.
