The second night of WWE SummerSlam took place on 2nd August 2026. There were 35,000 fans that were present for the show. There were 6 matches that happened at this show. SummerSlam 2026 was one of the highest quality PPVs for WWE this year.
Let’s look at the Results for WWE SummerSlam Sunday 2026
Kevin Owens beat Finn Balor, Sami Zayn and Gunther to become number 1 contender for WWE Championship
It is a long road to get to this result. The first match on the show was the match between Sami Zayn vs Finn Balor for the number 1 contender. They both made their entrances but Nick Aldis made a few additions. First he added Gunther to the match to make it a triple threat. However the biggest surprise was the addition of a returning Kevin Owens as the 4th member of the match. This was a short 9 minute match but there was so much action. Kevin Owens was not playing it safe and he gave CannonBalls to everyone and he even did a Crossbody from the top rope. Gunther tried to win the match using the sleeper but was unable to win. Kevin hit the Stunner on everybody and he pinned Sami Zayn to become the new number 1 contender to CM Punk and the WWE Championship.
Baron Corbin beat Trick Williams for United States Championship
The first title match of the night was for the United States Championship. Baron took early control of the match as he was hitting Trick Williams to the turnbuckle and giving the Chokeslam. He even poked the eye of his opponent when the referee was not seeing. Lil Yachty struck Kevin Owens with a kendo stick. When the referee was distracted Baron Corbin hit Trick Williams with the title belt followed by End of Days to win the United States Championship.
Chelsea Green beat Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Lash Legend and Tiffany Stratton for WWE Women’s Championship
The third match of the show was for the interim women’s title. It was a Fatal Five Way Match and it was 13 minutes of great action. Jade the Lash Legend dominated the early part of the match as they showed their power by sending their opponents through ladders on the outside. Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton countered the power by using their athletic abilities and Tiffany Stratton hit a MoonSault from the top of a ladder onto all 4 of her opponents. Jade Cargill and Charlotte Flair fought on the top of the ladder by trading punches against each other. Chelsea Green took advantage of an opportunity by climbing the ladder and she won the title.
Danhousen beat Dominik Mysterio in Human Monies on a Pole Match
The most bizarre match in the entirety of the two nights of SummerSlam was this match. Actual Human Monies were dangling from a pole. Dominik Mysterio used his superior athletic abilities and he repeatedly tried to retrieve the human money but Danhousen always brought him down and cursed him. Dominik Mysterio climbed to the top but Danhousen yanked the poor completely leaving Dominik Mysterio stuck. Danhousen bought the hand of Dominik Mysterio and he climbed the pole to retrieve the human money. Then he hit a reverse DDT to pin Dominik Mysterio.
Chad Gable beat Penta for Intercontinental Championship
The Intercontinental Championship was the co-main event of Night 2. Both men were cheered by the fans and it was an 11 minute match. Penta used his speed and agility across the ropes to take early control of the match. He was giving Crossbody and Springboard Crossbody. Chad Gable used his wrestling abilities and he targeted the ankle of Penta. Penta gave a devastating Package Piledriver to Chad Gable which nearly counted him out. Chad Gable gave a series of German Suplexes to Penta and then he applied the ankle lock and he was twisting and turning it until Penta tapped. Chad Gable finally won the Intercontinental Championship.
Roman Reigns beat Seth Rollins for World Heavyweight Championship
The main event of Night 2 was between the two top guys in WWE. It was the last chapter on the Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins rivalry which has been going on for 14 years. This was a 34 minute professional Wrestling masterpiece painted in Minneapolis Minnesota. This will be one of the best matches of the year and both men outdid themselves. It was a very even match as they knew each other very well. Seth Rollins took early control as he gave multiple Suicide Dives to Roman Reigns. In a cool spot both men gave each other Powerbombs through each of the announce tables. Seth Rollins hit the Stomp but Roman Reigns kicked out. Roman Reigns hit the Spear but it was not enough. Seth Rollins hit The Pedigree but Roman kicked out. Then Roman Reigns hit the Stomp and Seth Rollins hit the Spear but they both kicked out. The referee was taken out and Roman Reigns had the chair to the back but he let go of 12 years of anger and he won clean by hitting one last spear to Seth Rollins. This was perfection and in the end they fisted hands leaving room for their third member Dean Ambrose.
