WWE SummerSlam Saturday happened on 1st August 2026 in front of 40,000 fans and the 6 Matches were delivered. It was a very good first night of SummerSlam and the results were newsworthy.

Liv Morgan beat Iyo Sky for Women’s World Championship
The first match on the card was between Iyo Sky vs Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship. This was a 14 minute match which was incredible. Iyo Sky took the early control of the match by giving Liv Morgan Dropkicks and reversing her moves from the air. Liv was also trying to hit Oblivion but it was not happening. Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez came out and Liv Morgan hit the Codebreaker but Iyo Sky kicked out. Iyo Sky took out The Judgement Day and hit Oblivion on Liv Morgan but Liv kicked out. The finish of the match was fun as out of nowhere Liv Morgan hit her finisher and won the match. It was one of the best women’s matches of the year.
LA Knight, Solo Sikoa and Royce Keys beat The Bloodline
The second match was a 6 man tag team match. This was 11 minutes of fun wrestling. The Bloodline isolated Royce Keys in the corner attacking him with kicks. Solo Sikoa was at his comedic best as he did the run it back entrance of Jey Uso and everybody followed along. The match shifted when Royce Keys gave an incredible Powerslam to Jacob Fatu into the barricades. In the ring The Usos were going for the 1D but Solo Sikoa stopped that and LA Knight hit the BFT to win the match. Solo Sikoa remains a babyface.
Gunther beat Nick Aldis
This dream match was the third match on the show. It was the first Singles WWE Match for Nick Aldis. This was a great 12 minute professional wrestling match. Gunther took control of the match early as he was hitting chops and Suplexes to Nick Aldis. However Nick Aldis is a former NWA World Champion and he quickly turned the match around. He gave Gunther a great standing vertical Suplex and almost won. He then applied the Clover Leaf but Gunther got out. Gunther hit the Powerbomb but Nick kicked out. The end of the match happened when Gunther applied the Sleeper and Nick Aldis had to tap out.
Fatal Influence beat The Bella Twins and Paige
This match had the most difficult spot on the card. And this was only 8 minutes. Fatal Influence were using all their heel tactics to get the upper hand in this match. Lainey Reid hit the Powerbomb but Brie Bella kicked out. Page got the hot tag and she unleashed herself and hit a flurry of strikes but Fallon Henley once again caused the distraction. Taking advantage, Jacy Jayne hit her finisher and Fatal Influence won the match. After the match The Bella Twins turned heel on Paige. It looks like Brie Bella got seriously injured.
CM Punk beat Cody Rhodes for WWE Championship
This was the co-main event of the evening. Both CM Punk and Cody Rhodes got big entrances and the fans cheered for them. They had a 30 minute classic. This was an even match as Cody Rhodes first took control and was hitting Cody Cutters and Disaster kicks but CM Punk was kicking out. Cody Rhodes got frustrated and CM Punk took advantage as he hit two GTS but Cody Rhodes kicked out. CM Punk tried to hit the elbow drop through the table but Punk crashed into the table. Cody Rhodes inadvertently hit the referee and then Randy Orton made his return after 4 months and hit the RKO on Cody Rhodes and CM Punk won the match. This sets up the Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton feud.
Oba Femi beat Brock Lesnar in Hell in a Cell Match
This match was the main event and deservedly so. Both men have been feuding for 4 months and this was the ultimate clash of Heavyweights. This was a 12 minute match and it was the perfect length. Oba took early control as he was hitting upper cuts to Brock Lesnar on the turnbuckle. Brock Lesnar then hit 3 German Suplexes on Oba Femi but he got right back up and hit a Fall From Grace but Brock Lesnar kicked out. Brock Lesnar got up and hit 3 F5s to Oba Femi but Oba kicked out. Brock then took out the covering in the ring and the wooden mat was exposed. Brock Lesnar hit the Tombstone Piledriver on the wooden mat but again Oba Femi kicked out. Oba hit the Chokeslam and another Fall From Grace to win the match. After the match Brock Lesnar hugged Oba Femi and declared himself the past and Oba Femi the future. SummerSlam Night 2 has a high bar to live up to.
