Kenyans grabbed the top two spots in the women’s 3000m steeplechase event in the 2026 Diamond League Final, where Faith Cherotich set a new meet record to complete her third successive Diamond League title.
Kenyan Beatrice Chepkoech was previously holding the meet record in 8:55.10 minutes, while Faith Cherotich bettered the record by more than three seconds by finishing the final event in 8:51.61.
Another Kenyan, Doris Lemngole, finished in second place with her personal best performance, finishing in 8:52.86. Meanwhile, Winfred Yavi from Bahrain managed third position (8:53.54), while the sixth-placed American Lexy Halladay-Lowry (9:05.36) also recorded her personal best finish.

Who is Faith Cherotich?
Kenyan Faith Cherotich claimed her third straight Diamond League title in the Women’s 3000m steeplechase event. The 2025 World Athletics Championships gold medallist claimed a bronze medal in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
Before the 2026 Diamond League Final, Faith won twice in this Diamond League season, in Eugene and Zurich.
