In the high-scoring three-match WODI series decider against the hosts England Women, while the visitors India Women claimed a 13-run win, the 21-year-old right-arm medium fast bowler Kranti Goud was a key reason for the visitors' victory, as she recorded a six-wicket haul.
At the 1-1 series level, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and chose to bat first in the WODI series finale last Tuesday. Kaur’s powerful 102 off 84 balls helped India Women to manage the first innings total of 318/5 in 50 overs.
In reply, England Women scored 305 all out in 49.5 overs. Although English captain Nat Sciver-Brunt (98), Emma Lamb (68), Sophia Dunkley (34), and Alice Davidson-Richards (44) produced a hard battle, Kranti Goud played a major role with the ball, as she had the bowling figures of 9.5-1-52-6.
Apart from both English openers, Amy Jones (4) and Tammy Beaumont (2), Alice Davidson-Richards (44) and Charlie Dean (21) were also the victims of Goud along with the last two batters Lauren Filer (0) and Lauren Bell (7). In addition, Goud was also involved in Sophia Dunkley’s (34) run out.
