1. Virat Kohli (205 Innings):

To get to 10,000 runs in ODI cricket in only just 205 innings is  simply astonishing and something that will not be better for a lot of time. The next best is in 259 innings so a difference of more than 50 innings which tells us everything we need to know about the ridiculous achievement of Virat Kohli. He is easily one of the greatest batters in the history of ODI cricket. He has a lot more years left playing in him and there’s no telling how many more records he will break when he retires.


 

2. Sachin Tendulkar (259 Innings): 


Before Virat Kohli did the unthinkable and made 10,000 runs in just 205 innings, this record also belonged to Sachin Tendulkar who achieved this landmark in 259 innings and he was the greatest of his generation and he would go on to add 8000 more runs after getting to 10,000 ODI runs which is unimaginable and only Virat Kohli can catch to him in that. The first two in this illustrious list says a lot about Indian batting.

 

3. Sourav Ganguly (263 Innings): 


The third Indian on the trot on this list and it is another all time great and Sourav Ganguly achieved this milestone in 263 innings and he was also the captain of the Indian team and one of the best left handed batters ever and his cover drive was a thing of beauty and he made more than 11,000 ODI runs in his career. He is a player that will always be cherished as someone that changed the face of Indian cricket.

 

4. Ricky Ponting (266 Innings): 


A player other than from India comes at the number 4 at this list and Ricky Ponting was one of the best Australian batters to ever play the ODI format of the game and his consistency is staggering and the fact that he was one of the best captains along with being the best batter in the greatest Aussie team. A really special cricketing brain and someone who is still with the game as a coach.

 

5. Jacques Kallis (272 Innings): 


At number 5 on this list is one player who is revered across the cricketing world and someone who is the greatest all rounder of all time and someone who was a great batter and a great bowler as well and the fact that he scored 10,000 so quickly while picking so many Wickets is simply staggering and he will be an inspiration for young players across South Africa and around the world.
