During the high-scoring List A match between South Australia and Tasmania at Adelaide in the Australian domestic cup, The Marsh Cup, the 21-year-old South Australian cricketer Jake Fraser-McGurk scored a stunning century that broke the record for the fastest List A century.

After South Australia chose to field first, Tasmania scored a massive 435/9 in 50 overs. The captain Jordan Silk scored 116 runs off 85 balls (12 fours and 2 sixes), while the opener Caleb Jewell scored 90 runs in 52 balls (14 fours and 2 sixes), and the middle-order batter Macalister Wright scored 51 off 31 balls (8 fours and only six). There were also two more 40+ scores.

In reply, the first four South Australian batters scored 50+ runs, including the stormy century by the young opener Jake Fraser-McGurk. The right-handed batter completed his maiden List A hundred in just 29 balls, becoming the fastest century in List A cricket history. South African cricketer AB de Villiers was the previous record holder for the fastest hundred in List A cricket with a 31-ball century against West Indies in 2015.

Despite Jake’s powerful 125 runs in just 38 balls with the help of 10 fours and 13 sixes, South Australia were all out for 398 runs in 46.4 overs. Tasmania won that high-scoring thriller by 37 runs.
