Nico O'Reilly was our original choice for this slot, but he's an Injury doubt for the upcoming Gameweek and hence the best risk-free Manchester City FPL defender pick for this week would be Marc Guéhi. The former Crystal Palace captain has been fantastic since joining Pep Guardiola's side, adding much-needed leadership and quality to their backline. City will face Forest next, and that is a great fixture for Guehi to give you solid returns.
Diogo Dalot (Manchester United, £4.6m)
Diogo Dalot is yet again our best budget defender pick for this week. Michael Carrick's Manchester United continued their excellent run against Crystal Palace, and they are still undefeated since Carrick took over. Dalot has been one of the top players in defense under the new manager, and his £4.6m makes him a bargain player that you can start or even bench in certain fixtures.
Virgil Van Dijk (Liverpool, £6.1m)
Liverpool will have one of the best fixtures this upcoming Gameweek, as they'll be facing Wolves. Arne Slot's side are in red-hot form as well, having destroyed West Ham 5-2 last week. Van Dijk was one of the best players in that game, and he even scored one of the goals as well. The game against Wolves is another great opportunity for Liverpool's Dutch captain to provide great returns.
James Tarkowski (Everton, £5.7m)
