The steelers are wishing to win back-to-back games to begin the second phase of the season on a positive note while facing an SC East Bengal hoping to change their faith in the same circumstances. Jamshedpur have won two games in five while SC East Bengal has lost only once in that period.

JFC vs SCEB Match Details :

When: Tuesday, January 11

Time: 19:30 (IST)

Where: GMC Athletic Stadium

JFC vs SCEB Match Preview :

There was injury time drama at this venue when Ishan Pandita smacked in the winner for JFC just a minute after Deshorn Brown equalised for NorthEast United in the 3-2 thrilling draw. The 23-year-old has made a habit of scoring at the death, doing so for Goa last season and now for Jamshedpur. It was a match where Owen Coyle's men converted the chances they created but failed to keep their defense sealed. Brown in his scintillating scoring form put NorthEast ahead just four minutes on the clock, leading Murray and Boris to score on either half before the late drama unfolded. Greg Stewart assisted Murray's leveler in the first half, the Scot making 10 goal contributions in 10 games now. The victory was necessary after an unexpected loss to Chennaiyin FC led JFC to rethink their approach again. Also, gaining three points in this manner helps to build winning momentum in the team. Owen Coyle knows the fact and is urging his boys to display their attacking strength against a defensively disciplined opposition on Tuesday.

Bottom placed SC East Bengal's performance to restrict table-toppers Mumbai City FC to a 0-0 draw deserves all kinds of praising words. Especially their man in charge, for the time being, Renedy Singh. The former Indian team captain demonstrated his leadership and inspired a depleted team through injury and confidence to stand tall against the previous season's winners. Such was the Kolkata giant's charisma in organizing the back four, the free-scoring Mumbai City FC were left baffled by managing only two shots on target. Those were even parried by rejuvenated Arindam Bhattacharya. SC East Bengal produced the same quality against Bengaluru a game back but the search for three points still desert them. Renedy Singh is hopeful he can achieve the win soon in the next couple of games showing the squad is responding well to his instructions. It is also nostalgic to have an Indian coach managing a team out of disarray and working out a remarkable tale. SC East Bengal are desperate to begin the second phase willingly.

JFC vs SCEB Team News :

Owen Coyle has given an update on Komal Thatal's injury as the winger battles with his injury. The U17 World Cupper will be out for at least two weeks more but he has returned to training individually which is a good sign. Goalkeeper TP Rehenesh missed the last game with an injury but he too is back in individual training. He needs a last-minute assessment to be a match fit so second choice Pawan Kumar is likely to keep his place. Pronay Halder is back to full fitness.

SC East Bengal have a host of absentees due to injuries and Daniel Chima & Joyner Lourenco added themselves to that list after the last game against Mumbai City. The Indian full-back had to be replaced by Ankit Mukherjee within 19 minutes of the game. Two center backs, Tomislav Mrcela and Franjo Prce are injured while Darren Sidoel is still recovering. With so many players unavailable, Renedy Singh has said he will field an entire eleven Indian players. Balwant Singh can also get a chance up front.

JFC vs SCEB Expected Lineups :

Jamshedpur FC: Pawan Kumar; Laldinliana Renthlei, Eli Sabia, Peter Hartley, Ricky Lallawmawma, Seimenlen Doungel, Jitendra Singh, Mobashir Rahman, Boris Singh, Greg Stewart, Jordan Murray

SC East Bengal: Arindam Bhattacharya; Ankit Mukherjee, Amarjit Singh, Adil Khan, Hira Mondal, Sourav Das, Lalrinliana Hnamte, Wahengbam Luwang, Semboi Haokip, Mohammed Rafique, Balwant Singh

JFC vs SCEB Head to Head :

Jamshedpur FC actually started the 2021/22 season against SC East Bengal with the sides settling for a 1-1 draw. The two goals scored came from set plays with Franjo Prce bundling in the lead for SC East Bengal after a scramble before Peter Hartley scored at the other for Jamshedpur moments before the halftime whistle from a Nerajus Valskis pass. However, the draw meant Jamshedpur FC have never won against the Red and Gold Brigade in the three meetings overall in the ISL, drawing and losing once in previous campaign.
