PSG vs TOT Match Preview
After seasons of heartbreak and embarrassment, Paris Saint-Germain finally got their hands on the Champions League trophy last season in rampaging style and also became the first French club in history to complete a treble. They achieved all of this without superstar names, but by building a super unit under the tutelage of the mastermind, Luis Enrique. The Parisians maintained their mojo in the new FIFA Club World Cup and although they ended as runners-up this time, it showed that the club is determined to create a dynasty continentally alongside their domestic dominance. The team will find more pressure this time, moving into the new campaign to reflect their past greatness, but it is a challenge they will love to take, having turned into an undisputed force. Enrique’s team will now have the chance to pick up where they left off with the chance to win the first silverware of the season in the form of another European trophy, the UEFA Super Cup, to hunt for. This is the second time the club is participating in the Super Cup after entering as UEFA Cup winners in the 1996-97 season, but lost to Juventus 9-2 on aggregate. This is no better way to begin the campaign by winning a European trophy and the Champions League holders will be favourites for the task against a team that is rebuilding itself with a new manager at the helm. However, PSG entered this clash straight after losing heavily to Chelsea in the Club World Cup final exactly a month ago, with no pre-season friendly in between and their opener of the new Ligue 1 season against Nantes scheduled in the upcoming weekend.
Tottenham Hotspur also had a historic season, at least on the European front, last season as they won the Europa League against fellow Premier League side Manchester United, ending their long 17-year trophyless drought and returning to Champions League football since playing that competition final in 2019. Despite the success, the club had to part ways with Ange Postecoglou as the Lilywhites suffered their worst Premier League season by finishing 17th, just a place above the relegation zone. It was a conflicting period that needed to be sorted out and the club swooped in Brentford’s revolutionary manager, Thomas Frank, to help them return among the top six conversation. So far, the new era has not lit up as Spurs only managed to beat local rivals Arsenal in the preseason campaign, which, even though it is promising, drawing against third-tier sides Wycombe and Luton and also getting slammed 4-0 by Bayern Munich in the last game showed a lot of work needs to be done for the team to adopt to the manager’s philosophy fully. The task gets bigger for Frank as they take on the best side in Europe in their first-ever appearance in the UEFA Super Cup, days before they take on Burnley to start the 2025-26 Premier League season. Tottenham are bidding to be the second London club to beat PSG this year to win back-to-back European trophies, which will be a great leap for the team and huge motivation for the new season, but injuries and off-form keep them on the back foot.
PSG vs TOT Dream11 Team News
The big team news coming out of the Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain is that their star goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has been excluded from the squad list for the UEFA Super Cup. The Italian is expected to leave the club after a dispute over his contract extension and will be replaced by the club’s summer signing from Lille, Lucas Chevalier. The Parisians will also miss the service of midfielder João Neves, who is part of the esteemed trio with Fabian Ruiz and Vitinha, after FIFA handed a two-match ban on the Portuguese following his red card in the Club World Cup final. However, Willian Pacho will pair up with Marquinhos again at centre-back after completing his two-match suspension, having given his marching orders in the Club World Cup quarterfinal alongside teammate Lucas Hernandez.
Meanwhile, Europa League winners Tottenham will be travelling to Udine with a squad ravaged by injuries. Star player James Maddison tore his ACL in the pre-season game against Newcastle United, having just recovered from his knee injury, which will keep him out for the majority of the new season. Dejan Kulusevski and Radu Dragusin will also take a few more months to recover, while first-choice striker Dominic Solanke and left-back Destiny Udogie are out for the clash as well, with respective injuries.

PSG vs TOT Dream11 Match Prediction
PSG is too good a side for Tottenham to face in the present scenario, with Luis Enrique’s men determined to carry on their excellence from last season and the North London side facing a lot of difficulty to have a proper squad at their disposal. We expect the Ligue 1 giants to be dominant in clinching another trophy this year and start their title defence on a high. A 3-1 success.
