Redemption Time for Lionel Messi

2014 was the most heartbreaking year for Lionel Messi as his dream of winning the World Cup was shattered by Germany and everyone laughed at him that he cannot win the big one with Argentina but he never lost hope and after 8 and a half years of waiting and putting in the work, Lionel Messi had got another and final chance to end his career with the biggest prize of all.

In 2018 Lionel Messi had a horrible World Cup in Russia and everyone thought that his international career was over and everyone was laughing at him again but in 2021 he won the Copa America with Argentina and from that point on he had no more pressure of winning an international trophy for Argentina. So, let’s talk about the redemption story of the greatest ever.

2014 was a really heartbreaking year for Lionel Messi and Argentina and all of his fans who wanted to see him win the World Cup and at that point it was easy to give up and retire but he did not and yet again in 2018 he went for the glory jyf at the Round of 16 he was beaten by France and yet again his dream was crushed and this time everyone thought that his last Chance was over but fate had other plans.

The Comeback in 2021

In 2021 the Copa America was held in Brazil and Lionel Messi and Argentina were not the favorites to win the tournament but in that event Lionel Messi was the best player of the tournament with 4 goals and so many assists and Argentina won the Copa America title. This was the monkey pf the back of his shoulder and now he could play freely. Then again in the Finals between Argentina and Italy he won the Super Cup so 2 international trophies in 1 year.

The Dream 2022 World Cup

And now we come to the 2022 World Cup which is going on as we speak and Argentina lost the first match to Saudi Arabia and everyone again thought that Lionel Messi was done but he was ready to show that he was not done and thus started the story of redemption. He performed excellently in the next 2 league matches against Mexico and Poland where he scored goals and then in the Round of 16 he scored a goal. In the Quarter Final he again scored a goal and had one of the assists of the year. Yet again in the semi final last night he scored a goal and had a brilliant assist.

The Redemption story is almost complete and Lionel Messi with 1 more win can cement himself as the Greatest of all time and his ultimate dream will be fulfilled. I, as a Lionel Messi fan, want nothing more than to see him life the World Cup on Sunday. He deserves it after everything he has given to football.
