Welcome to Gameweek 23 edition of Team of the Week Premier League. Epl GW23 was one filled with expected results and some major surprises as well, with Michael Carrick’s Manchester United shocking Mikel Arteta's Arsenal with a 2-3 win and Chelsea continuing their promising run under Rosenior with an easy 1-3 win over Oliver Glasner's Palace. A lot of Premier League players delivered brilliant performances this week, and we've included them in our team of the week list. Let's not waste anymore time then, here is our EPL team of the week for Gameweek 23
Premier League/EPL Team of the Week - Gameweek 23 (GW23)
Goalkeeper
Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa)
Emiliano Martinez had been recently linked with Inter Milan, but he didn't show any signs of that distracting him as the Argentine made 4 saves and helped Aston Villa beat Newcastle 0-2.
Defenders
Matheus Nunes (Manchester City)
Matheus Nunes continues to excel in the right-back position under Pep Guardiola, and was impressive in the 2-0 victory over his former side Wolves. He managed to provide an assist as well in the game.
Cristian Romero (Tottenham)
Tottenham are on a poor run of results at the moment, but Cristian Romero has been fantastic for the team as of late. His last-minute goal helped Spurs earn a point against Burnley.
Murillo (Nottingham Forest)
Murillo was back to his usual best against Brentford, as he reminded everyone of the fantastic player that we all saw in the Premier League last season frequently. He was fantastic in the 0-2 win over Brentford.
Neco Williams (Nottingham Forest)
Neco Williams was yet another Forest player that was impressive in the 0-2 win over Brentford. The Welsh full-back is still just 24, and has lots of time left to potentially develop into a world-class player.
Midfielders
Alex Scott (Bournemouth)
Alex Scott has been really impressive for Bournemouth this season, and players like him will now have to level up since star player Semenyo left for Manchester City. Scott was fantastic in the 3-2 victory over Liverpool.
Mateus Fernandes (West Ham)
Mateus Fernandes has played a huge role in the last 2 victories of West Ham over Tottenham and now Sunderland. He scored one of the goals against Sunderland and also made an assist for West Ham. He's in top-form at the moment.
Patrick Dorgu (Manchester United)
Patrick Dorgu has been sensational under Michael Carrick so far in the left wing position so far, as he scored for the second game in a row against Arsenal after previously scoring against Manchester City last week. The sky is the limit for Dorgu right now.
Enzo Fernandez (Chelsea)
Enzo Fernandez continues to prove himself as one of the most improved and best players for Chelsea this season. The Chelsea captain was solid in midfield and also scored a penalty goal in the victory over Crystal Palace.
Harry Wilson (Fulham)
Welsh winger Harry Wilson has arguably been the best player for Fulham this season. He was yet again fantastic against Brighton, scoring his 8th goal of the season to help them win the game.
Forwards
Bryan Mbeumo (Manchester United)
Similar to Patrick Dorgu, Bryan Mbeumo is another player who's come back to life under Michael Carrick. He scored for the second game in a row as well, and now averages a direct goal contribution every 2 games in the EPL for UTD. The best is yet to come from him.
So the following is our Premier League Team of the Week for Gameweek 23:
That was our Premier League Team of the Week for Gameweek 23. We will see you soon with our EPL Team of the Week for Gameweek 24. Until then, goodbye!
