Just like the Indian men, the Indian women’s hockey team has also started their Asian Games 2022 journey in a gigantic way with a 13-0 win against Singapore Women in the Pool A contest.
Asian Games 2023: Women's Hockey - 10 players scored for India Women, including a hat-trick
On Wednesday (September 27), Indian women played their first game in the 19th Asian Games. The Indian players completely dominated Singapore as ten players scored in the game, including a hat-trick and a brace.
While Sangita Kumari scored a hat-trick (23’, 47, 53’), Navneet Kaur managed back-to-back goals in the 14th minute. Udita, Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam, Deepika Kumari, Deep Grace Ekka, Neha Goyal, Salima Tete, Monika Malik, and Vandana Katariya were the other eight scorers for India. Apart from one penalty stroke goal, six more goals came from penalty corners.
In the other Pool A game, South Korea Women managed their second successive victory with a 7-0 win against Hong Kong Women.
Meanwhile, China Women won their second Pool B game by 11-0 against Kazakhstan Women. In their tournament opener, the hosts beat Indonesia Women by 20-0.
On the other hand, Japan Women won their first schedule of this campaign by 7-0 against Indonesia Women.
