Germany 4–2 Australia
While both teams were facing a must-win game, the defending champions Germany beat Australia by 4-2 to secure the top spot of Pool F and qualify for the Semis. After Blake Govers opened the scoreline for Australia in the third minute, Germany claimed a 3-1 lead inside the next 20 minutes, where Hannes Müller (11’), Michel Struthoff (12’), and Justus Warweg (19’) netted once each. While Joel Rintala (30’) provided a fightback for Australia, Hugo von Montgelas (40’) secured the crucial victory for Germany.
As Spain vs Belgium match ended in a draw, a draw would be enough for Australia to qualify for the Semis, but they missed it.
Spain 1–1 Belgium
With their late equaliser goal against the hosts and last two-time finalists Belgium, Spain snatched the Semifinals spot of the tournament. Interestingly, if Belgium won the match, they would qualify for the Semifinals, as Australia earlier suffered a defeat.
Arthur Van Doren (4’) provided an early lead for the hosts to set up the knockout stages qualification dream. Marc Miralles later levelled the scoreline in the 46th minute that ultimately resulted in their Semifinals qualification.
