Indian men’s compound archery team brought another gold medal for the nation at the Asian Games 2026 on Wednesday (30 September), as Indian archery produced three gold medals on the same day at the Asiad 2026.
In the final of the men’s compound archery team event, India faced China. Kushal Dalal, Sahil Jadhav, and Ganesh Maniratnam Thirumuru represented the Indian team, while Liao Jiahao, Liu Jinyi, and Shi Jingyu were on the Chinese team.
Although China got a lead after the first round, the Indian archers produced a perfect 60 points in the next three games to snatch the gold medal. The Indian team was in complete discipline lately, while the Chinese team just failed to match, as India snatched the victory with a final scoreline of 237-238.
Earlier, on the same day, the Indian women’s compound archery team and mixed compound archery team also secured the gold medals. Moreover, with their successful result, the mixed compound archery team also booked a slot for the nation for the LA 2028 Summer Olympics.
All three Indian archers claimed their first Asian Games medals in this edition. While both Kushal and Ganesh recorded their first-ever Asian Games medal, Sahil just earlier secured his first Asian Games medal with a gold medal in the mixed compound archery team event along with Chikitha Taniparthi.
