Ireland are ready for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, as they have to prove themselves how desperate they are to grow. India and Sri Lanka are hosting the tournament, which will run from 7 February to 8 March, 2026.
Although they failed to qualify for the Super 8 stage in the last edition, Ireland earned direct qualification for the T20 World Cup 2026 due to their 11th T20I ranking. Except for the inaugural edition in 2007, Ireland have featured in every other T20 World Cup tournament, while they qualified for the Super Eight stage in the 2009 edition, which was their debut in the tournament, and also advanced to the second round group stage (competition with the direct qualified teams) in the 2022 edition.
Ireland are in Group B in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, as they will play all their group stage matches in Sri Lanka. If they advance to the next round, the Super Eight stage, and if they replace Sri Lanka’s spot, they will feature in Group 2 and will play all the Super 8 fixtures in Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, if they replace Australia, Ireland will compete in Group 1 and will play all the Super Eight games in India.
