There have been some truly incredible commentators in WWE history and there still continue to be some great people behind the microphone. WWE has been going on for more than 50 years and in all that time there have been hundreds of people that have commentated for WWE and to choose the Top 5 from that list is very difficult but it will be fun to do so.

1) Gorilla Monsoon
There can be absolutely no doubt that Gorilla Monsoon is the greatest of all time and he has been considered the best by the majority of the WWE fans. Gorilla Monsoon was from the era of the 1980s when the Wrestling scene was undergoing a change as it is going today. Gorilla Monsoon had an incredible partnership with Bobby Heenan who was the best heel commentator in the business. Gorilla Monsoon would emote so much during the matches and he was so widely respected that the WWE named the backstage area the Gorilla Position.
2) Jim Ross
The difference between numbers 2 and 3 in this list was very small but Jim Ross just edged out to be number 2 in this list. Jim Ross was the commentary face of the WWE for more than 15 years and he was the face throughout his run and he was never afraid to share his feelings and emotions during Matches or segments and he would use harsh language against the heels and sometimes even cussing them on live TV. His hatred for Triple H is well known and he had some of the all time great calls in commentary. Jim Ross is still commentating in AEW but it is not the same.
3) Michael Cole
Michael Cole is the greatest play by play commentator in WWE and he was not in this conversation as recently as 2 years ago because the WWE fans thought that he was just the mouthpiece of Vince McMahon but as soon as Triple H started taking over creative and Pat McAfee came into WWE commentary, Michael Cole showed what he is made of and since the past 2 years he has not been afraid to show his emotions and his skills have only gotten better and his hatred for Dominik Mysterio or Bayley and Top Dolla is awesome to witness and news came in recently that he will once again be the play by play guy in both Raw and SmackDown.
4) Vince McMahon
WWE fans recently might not know but Vince McMahon is also one of the all time great commentators in WWE history. He was the guy Behind the microphone and he was obviously the heel because he is the greatest heel in wrestling history. Vince McMahon could do everything and he was such a great bad guy and he was the commentator in the 1990s and he was the man who called the debut of Kane and he showed that he could do all things in WWE and was the perfect leader for everyone to follow.
5) Pat McAfee
Pat McAfee in just a few short years has done so well that he deserves to be part of this list. He is the most unique WWE commentator of all time and he in just 2 years has left such an impact that the fans got used to him and Michael Cole and their brilliant chemistry. He has also brought the passion back for Michael Cole for WWE and now WWE is much better for it. Pat McAfee was also someone who is a great Wrestler and he would say anything and it was refreshing. He came in 2021 and hopefully he will be back soon.
